Anyone riding Cannondale Hooligan in this forum? I'm surprised not to find a thread here dedicated to the Cannondale Hooligan. Am I missing something here?

Nice picture z1ppy I believe this bike will work wonders for me as I live in the city. Short cardio sessions without having to squeeze into my riding thighs n jerseys and those short trips to the gas station for a midnight snack. Now can someone tell me what's the difference between a rear d and a internal shift system?

Well apparently they come in rear dérailleur or rear internal gearing. Can someone please enlighten me on each traits? I ride a Cannondale F800 and a Colnago but I have no clue as to which one to choose between when it comes to a rear d or rear internal gear shift.

You could change from a 3-speed to an 8-speed internal if you needed more range.

I'm eager to find out how 3-speeds ride. Never had an internal geared hub before. Funnily enough the wife will have a 3-speed on her Electra cruiser when I pick that up shortly for her too.

I tried on a 3 speed at a dealer today and i would say it's got a 'wide' gear ratio which is what it should be given only 3 speed to cover a wide range of speeds.

Handling wise it definitely felt stiffer than a folding bike which 'wobbles' even on the showroom floor I was trying on today. :nono:

I have an identical one to this one, i use it when i go riding with my kids. No clipless hassle... I also bought it because i want to learn to do wheelies again. When i was young, i could ride around the block with my BMX. But now, by gettin older, my skills have faded. So I hope the Hooligan will help me in regaining my skills AND that i can transfer them to clipless wheelies on the mountainbike.

Btw, the white one does not have the lefty fork, but it does have the 8spd alfine. Which is more interresting...NOT? It is the mother of mothers ;-)

Love my Hoolis, had a 2010 8 for a while, used flat pedals and also mtb spd's depending on the ride.

I tried to post some pics but don't have 10 posts yet.

I use mine for daily rides, commuting, fun/family rides. I'm 38, been riding since a kid currently have a Carbon Cannondale Synapse, Gary Fisher Mendota, MirraCo Icon, am building a flatland bike and by far the Hooli is the most fun bike I have ever had. I do have a BMX background so I love the quick 20" wheels.

The best source of info for Hoolis is a Facebook page, lots of people with some cool mods... 18 speeds, drop bars, some suspension forks, etc.

Anyway, ride safe and enjoy the weekend.

Well I have a choice of a Hooligan in green or grey frame color and I'm hoping someone in this forum can help me decide. The grey is definitely more low key whereas the green one reminds me of cannondales from 'team sobe'. Would like to hear some opinions.

Only having seen pics of them and not in the flesh, I'd go the green. The blue graphics on the downtube don't seem to match it but the green is a far better colour. The bike is going to turn heads as it is, no point hiding it behind the dull grey.

Mine's going to be black (2011 model), but I'd happily have the green if I had an option.

Yes both my friends prefer the green to, I must admit the green is a far better color but it's just me that think I might wanna just be low key with the grey since I'm not getting younger anymore(I'm 38) but on the other hand, I can say myself as a 'flashy' person. So I am pretty much caught in a dilemma between these two colors. :madman:

I have also noted that the hooligan comes with 2 different sized BB's. The larger one is eccentric and is used to adjust chain tension on the rear hub 3 speed model. Whereas the standard sized BB is used on a rear d 9speed model.

Could anyone tell me the pros and cons of different sized BB's?

Hi I just purchased a used Cannondale Hooligan 9 with 200 miles on it, it's a sweet bike and I have included a picture of it. However it comes with what I believe to be a 10-15º rise. I am wondering if there are any online websites that I can purchase the same cannondale C3 stem at 80-90mm 35-45º rise? Are there any other alternative stem I can be looking at that gives me a 35-45º rise? It must be of an equivalent or better quality than the C3 stem which I believe is not hard to find. :)

If anyone is interested I have what I believe to be the 2010 hooligan 1 for sale.
Its the black model with the sram i-motion 3 speed and solo fork. I bought it from a bike shop that was closing down so it is as new with a few shop marks on it.

I'm based in Sydney Australia

I'd take it... but the shipping would cost almost as much as the bike itself!
