Chris Hemsworth, Anya Taylor-Joy and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II will soon team up for the highly anticipated 'Mad Max: Fury Road' prequel, 'Furiosa'.
According to the latest reports, the film is said to be the biggest movie ever made in Australia, with a budget set at AUD 350 million. The upcoming film will be based on Charlize Theron's iconic character - Imperator Furiosa- who appears in the multi-Oscar winning 2015 film.
This time around, Taylor-Joy, will play the title role in the prequel, as a younger version of the character. Amidst much debate about Charlise not returning to play the part, director George explained that the prequel will be spread out over years while 'Fury Road' took place in a span of just three days and two nights.
In the 'Fury Road' script, Miller and co-writer Nick Lathouris had developed origin stories for every character, but not much was revealed about Furiosa's past.
In the film, she is a war captain under Immortan Joe, but turns against him in order to free his concubines. She then joins hands with Max Rockatansky, played by Tom Hardy.
Although many plot details about the movie are still under wraps, it will see 'Thor: Love and Thunder' actor Chris Hemsworth play a leading role along with Anya and Yahya.
