Smaller Than I Thought It Would Be
We had been to Monaco a few times but never visited the casino. We did on this go. It was smaller than I imagined but as glamorous as I thought it would be. Definitely worth the price to see it but I did find the map a bit confusing. I wasn't exactly sure if the audio guide was telling me about where I really was. Also, all the guide books stated that the dress code to visit in the morning was smart casual. We were surprised to see people in flip flops, shorts and basically beach wear.
Dear LyndaLBackToNaples, Thank you for your comment and feedback. We are delighted to hear that your experience at our establishment was pleasant. Indeed, we don't have a dress code for morning visits, to allow everyone to come in. Our casual dress code starts at 2pm and evolves into casual chic from 7pm. We hope to welcome you again soon. Our sincere thanks for taking the time to share your comments with us. Best regards, Casino de Monte-Carlo

underwhelming experience - the supercars parked outside were more exciting
Honestly, we were underwhelmed. It was much smaller and the variety of game tables was very limited. You hear Casino de Monte Carlo and you imagine high rollers and a place of great opulence with well-dressed patrons. I guess my expectations were wrong. Staff was very friendly though especially the servers - very attentive and quick to return with your drinks.

    Gorgeous building
The casino is housed in a beautiful building, very posh & glitzy. You can go into the lobby to take pictures but it costs €18 to get into the actual casino, which we didn’t really want to do. So a quick photo stop.
Dear dranke, Thank you for your comment and feedback. We are delighted to hear that your experience at our establishment was pleasant. The ticket entrance costs 18€ and if you eat for 40€ at the restaurant, the ticket entrance will be refund directly on the bill. We hope to welcome you again soon. Interesting entrance hall
If you don’t want to go to casino for a game, but you want to see how it’s inside, you can do it when it’s day time. There are beautiful interior with a balcony and a zone designed as a casino table. There is a restaurant inside the building located in the first floor which opens daily.

    Exciting
A must see if you visit Monte Carlo it was a great feeling to enter the main playing area and experience the atmosphere. Although not a gambler being in the casino and playing roulette was fun and the staff were patient and helpful with a complete novice. Be aware there seems to be a smart casual dress code some people were refused entrance also make sure you take ID a passport gets you in.

    Glittering Casino
This is an opulent monument to wealth, gambling and the French Riviera (even if it's in Monaco). It's well worth the entry fee of 18 euro, and with the 10 euro voucher I received, I made back the fee and a bit more in the casino. Chandeliers, gilt and paintings cover every nook and cranny, and it really does feel like a movie set. Enjoy it for what it is as you walk in James Bond's footsteps.

Amazing from outside, the public area needs some more attractions for tourists. Litle overrated.
5 star for architecture, building from outside looks amazing. At the entrance, the security staff is checking your bags and pockets. Not to much to see in the main hall. Just one room open to public. Take a pic and post on Instagram,as that much is worth it.

    Great Experience
We had a great dinner meal here and the staff were wonderful and even replaced my husband's meal when he told them he had a food allergy that wasn't recognized until after he got his meal. Quite interesting to have to show our passports as residents of the principality of Monaco are not allowed to gamble in Monaco. Very laid back and elegant casino.

Still love it but clientele is changing..
We spend a lot of time in Monaco and we absolutely love the Casino. This is the first time, however, that ‘call girls’ have been obvious to me and that I’ve been ‘pestered’ by them (in spite of being there with my wife). I’m no prude, but it’s not a good look and it isn’t the kind of experience I want (or expect) from what I think is the foremost gaming experience/location in the world. I hope SBM will address

Fun to see how the other side lives
We stopped in briefly as part of a day tour and it was fun to check out. The general public’s allowed into the front lobbies and bar to look around and take photos. It’s a pretty casino inside and out. Plus a beautiful surrounding area. I don’t know if people can gamble during the day or just at night as we were there just for a few minutes. There are also washrooms available on the lower level.

We visited the Monte Carlo Casino today, and my opinion afterwards is that it should not be visited for other qualities than its beauty and architectural value. The staff are short with the customers and speak only French. You have to pay to enter the tables, which is also the only area where drinks are served (I would have had to pay to enter the area to wait and have a drink whilst my boyfriend plays a couple rounds, ludicrous) and for free you can only pay the slot machines. I decided to try my luck and took out 20 euros, and noticed that in most machines minimum bet is 2,5 - which for me seemed unreasonably high. The machines are extremely misleading: I put in 10 euros to one of them and wanted to change the bet to a lower one, but the only option was a bigger bet with no possibility of changing back to the lower one. After trying to change the bet the machine simply changed to max bet, betting my full 10 euros, and I lost the whole lot in two seconds. Needless to say the staff were unhelpful when I informed them about their machines being misleading and ridiculous. Total scam if you cannot enter the private rooms; for a casual Sunday tourist definitely not worth it.

Dear guest, We are sorry to read that your visit did not meet your expectations. Did you take advantage of our Casino Royal offer? With your entry ticket, you are free to choose from various offers: either 10€ to play at the slot machines or table games, 10€ discount on you bill at the Bar of the Salle Europe, or a refund of your entrance ticket when you spend €30 or more at Salon Rose. We are sorry that you did not find a slot machine for you. Please do not hesitate to ask our staff and they will be happy to help you find the good one for you. Best regards,

This was a very disappointing experience. It cost 17 euros to get in (with 10 of that used as credit inside) which is absolutely fine. However, once inside there were WAY WAY too many customers for the number of tables. Four black jack tables and two roulette tables plus automated machines that no one uses is not nearly enough for the sheer number of people the let into the building. We waited for over an hour and not a single space opened up at any of the tables. You have to order a drink at either a lounge table (all busy) or one of the gambling tables, which of course you cannot do as they are all full. Then surprise surprise, once we decided to cut our losses, the credit chips cannot be exchanged back so we just had to leave 17 euros down each without placing a single bet. This is definitely not worth all of the hype. Worst casino I have ever been in.

Unfortunately we didn’t get very far into the casino. We managed to make it into the building once our temperature was checked (and with my husband wearing shorts) but when we went to pay our €17 euros to get in, I was refused entry as I had no ID. My husband offered a photographic picture of my passport but that was no good. I don’t drive so had no other form of ID. I took my mask off to show him I was definitely over 21 years and even asked if my husband bought the drinks if this would suffice. The man was nice enough (unlike his colleague) but said unfortunately he couldn’t let us in. His colleague a couple of 100 metres standing away from us started yelling across the hallway for me to put my mask back on ... I understand why but he did it in a pretty aggressive manner. I put my mask back on and we took our custom elsewhere to the Buddha Bar. From reading the other reviews and the lack of atmosphere/professional staff sounds like we dodged a bullet!

We visited on July 29, 2022. It was part of a tour group, so we got there around 1pm and only had a short time to check out Monte Carlo before catching our bus.

Some of the most fun we had was standing outside and checking out all the fancy cars parked in front.

I believe the Casino lobby opens at 10am, so you can go inside this grand building and check it out for free.

To get into the main lobby (from outside), you will pass through security, but I saw no particular dress code being enforced just to enter the lobby area.

The lobby isn't huge, but does have an art installation you can check out. There are also small statues and other items to see. There is a bar off the lobby, but we didn't go in. They have a coat check as well. Fancy. There is also a very small gift shop where you can buy all sorts of things. We got a souvenir casino chip for 8EU.

Once the clock hit 2pm, we headed to the entrance of the casino (gaming area). My husband had a Nikon camera around his neck and they took issue with it. They said he couldn't bring his camera inside the gaming area. They said we could drop it off at the coat check and then we could go inside. Instead, my husband went inside the shot machine room (wearing a t-shirt and shorts) and I stayed in the lobby. He was more excited that I was to check it out. NOTE: Just going into the slot machine room was free. We did not go beyond the slot room, so I can't comment regarding if there were stricter dress codes to get into the table game rooms. I assume to get to the table games is when you have to pay a fee (and show your ID) to enter.

Have fun!!

Dear VaAlleyCat, Thank you for your comment and feedback. We are delighted to hear that your experience at our establishment was pleasant. From 10 am to 1 pm casino is open only for visit, games are close so it's possible to take pictures inside, children are allowed and no dress code required. But to enter the other rooms, we have a dress code and the ticket entrance costs 17€ and you have a voucher included. You can use 10€ at the Bar or at the slot machines or if you eat for 40€ at the restaurant, the ticket entrance will be refund directly on the bill. You have to present a passport or official ID (no driver license). I took bus 100 from Nice to Monaco. I visited the casino as a museum. The ticket costs 17 euros. You can enter all the halls with an audio guide. You must buy a ticket before noon to visit like a regular tourist. You can take a picture inside before 1 pm. The ticket will allow you to enter after 2 pm if you want to play.

Very beautiful inside, but not worth paying 17€. Staff inside the casino was very impolite and expected all the tourists to speak French. Only a couple of rooms are available for visit and there is no tour guide(which should be the absolute minimum given the price and what there is to see). In addition we tried to use the bathroom inside the facilities (which we paid to see) and we got yelled at in French by a member of staff because of it.

I arrived a bit early I think. The casino floor is not open 24-7 like Las Vegas.

Add to that you have to buy a ticket just to get in! I think with the ticket it included a drink at the bar and some casino chips to play with so not a loss there.

The craps table does not open up until way later in the day, so I waited around for that.

The dealers are friendly but not as fast and professional as Las Vegas dealers.

The restaurant was closed the day I visited so that was a bummer, because after a few drinks I got hungry.

All in all a great place to visit while in the region and plenty of beautiful cars and architecture to enjoy.

After a lifetime of watching James Bond films and conjuring up images of walking into the casino, I was very disappointed to find a huge construction site in front. The noise from the many cranes and digging equipment was incessant. Upon entering the casino the atmosphere was refined and elegant. The opulent decor is definitely worth a look. Staff was pleasant and the basement restrooms are spotless.

Great day trip to Monaco, beautiful place, took a walk up the hill to see the famous casino was surprised that we were allowed inside, if only into the small slot area. You can buy chips for the tables minimum 20 euros and need passport but I only had a go on the slot machines for fun. The square outside is a brilliant place to people watch and admire the fabulous cars arriving etc. Very glamourous

Went here to do some gambling. However to enter we still had to pay the 19 euro entry ticket, in addition to the 100s euro lost gambling that night.
The casino is beautiful and reminds me very much of le tren blue restaurant on Lyon station in Paris, and there is even a le tren blue restaurant inside.
No photos allowed inside.
