There are a handful of optional side quests to embark on in Stray. These tend to be some sort of collectable hunt, and they are, for the most part, fairly straightforward. Even in the largest areas, it’s not too difficult to bump into one or two collectables when blazing down the beaten path.

The first kind of collectable you are likely to bump into is the humble Music Sheet. This acts like a soft introduction to the game's exploration mechanics and will have you exploring high and low if you want to find them all. Of course, there is a reward for your hard work, and in fact, there are even some extra quests you can find whilst you potter around on this one.

Updated August 8, 2022: We've updated this article to include a helpful video guide that shows you exactly where to find all of the Music Sheets in the Slums in Stray.

Where To Start The Quest

If you want to start the Music Sheet quest, all you have to do is find the sad robot who has a guitar - but no music to play. You can find him almost immediately when starting entering the slums - after you’ve met the Guardian.

From the plaza, simply head left (opposite direction to the Barterman). You will see Morosque sitting next to some pillows holding his guitar. Talk to him, and you are good to go.

Technically you can get all the Music Sheets BEFORE talking to him if you wanted to.

Where To Find Music Sheet 1

Stray Momo's apartment

Music Sheet one can be found just by going through the main story whilst in the slums. Your first objective will be to go to Momo’s apartment. You can find the Music Sheet here, in a storage room. You can squeeze through the metal bars in the door to gain access.

Where To Find Music Sheet 2

Stray Balcony near clementine's place

You will want to come back to this one since it is very easy to grab once you have grabbed a few others - specifically Music Sheet 6. When leaving Clementine’s place, hop onto the pipe to the left of the window, and climb onto the balcony. On the table, you will find the Music Sheet.

Where To Find Music Sheet 3

This Music Sheet can be found by going to Elliott’s place. It’s incredibly easy to find. Find one of the many street signs and follow the arrow that is covered in binary. You will eventually find a door that also has binary code written on it. Scratch the door to open it, and you will find the Music Sheet attached to a large painting of a robot directly in front of you.

Where To Find Music Sheet 4

The fourth Music Sheet can be bought from Barterman. All he needs is a single Energy Drink Can, which can conveniently be found opposite the Music Robot in a vending machine. Take this back to Barterman to collect your Sheet.

Stray Music Sheet in Duffer's Bar

Inside the only bar in the Slums (which you will pass on the way to Elliott’s), you can find the fifth Music Sheet. Enter the bar, head upstairs and on the second table, you can find the sheet.

When following the main questline, you will be forced to look for various journals. This will take you to several apartments - one of which will be Clementine’s. You can find a Music Sheet in Clementine’s apartment on a shelf near her bed.

Where To Find Music Sheet 7

Music Sheet 7 is another quest-related Music Sheet. When you enter Doc’s library, you can find it resting on a piano. Pick it up, and you are one step closer to finishing the quest.

Where To Find Music Sheet 8

Stray open safe with sheet music inside

The final Music Sheet is the hardest to unlock since it has its own little side quest. It will require you to open a safe near where you started this quest. We have written a separate guide to cover how to open it, and you can find it here.

What To Do Once You Have All Eight Music Sheets

Stray large building in the distance you have to climb

Once you have all eight Music Sheets, simply take them back to the guitar-toting robot and hand them over - one by one. He will play you a song for each sheet returned. Once you have listened to all eight songs (it will take a few minutes), he will give you a badge as thanks.
