Despite King Charles stepping back from a few of his royal duties while he receives cancer treatment, he and Queen Camilla wanted to take a special getaway from Buckingham Palace to celebrate their 19th wedding anniversary.

The pair hit the relationship milestone on April 9. According to People, Charles and Camilla are staying at Birkhall, their favorite Scottish hideaway, for the next few days. This is a bit of a departure from tradition, as they have usually taken a trip to the grand house near the royal family's Balmoral Castle and its accompanying estate in past years.

Charles and Camilla's airplane was spotted at Aberdeen Airport on April 10, an hour drive away from the estate. A royal source confirmed to People that they are spending "private time" in Birkhall for the special occasion. The break from Balmoral serves as a romantic move for Charles and Camilla, as they spent their official honeymoon in Birkhall after trying the knot in 2005.

As Charles recovers from cancer, loved ones note that he's doing well emotionally. “He’s in good spirits,” Charles' nephew, Peter Phillips, said in an March 24 interview with Sky News Australia. “I think, ultimately, he’s hugely frustrated. He’s frustrated that he can’t get on and do everything that he wants to be able to do. But he is very pragmatic, [and] he understands that there’s a period of time that he really needs to focus on himself.”
