• Actress Cameron Diaz and Good Charlotte guitarist Benji Madden announced the birth of their baby girl, Raddix Madden, on Instagram earlier today.
  • The pair are "overjoyed" to welcome their new daughter into the world, but made a note to fans that they would not be sharing photos of Raddix for the sake of her privacy.

Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden sure know how to drop a New Year’s surprise—the couple announced on their individual Instagrams today that they are new parents to baby girl, Raddix Madden. This is the first child for both the actress and the Good Charlotte guitarist.

“Happy New Year from the Maddens!” began the couple’s announcement on Instagram. “We are so happy, blessed and grateful to begin this new decade by announcing the birth of our daughter, Raddix Madden. She has instantly captured our hearts and completed our family.”

The new parents continued to share that though they are “overjoyed” to share the news of the birth of their daughter, but moving forward they will be adamantly strict in guarding her privacy. They claimed they have no plans to share any photos of Baby Raddix anytime soon.

“We won’t be posting pictures or sharing any more details, other than the fact that she is really really cute! Some would even say RAD,” continued the new parents. “From our family to all of yours, we’re sending our love and best wishes for a Happy New Year and Happy New Decade. Sincerely, Cameron&Benj,” they finished the message.

News of the couple's child came as a surprise since both Diaz and Madden have stayed relatively under the radar lately and Diaz never publicly shared the news that she was pregnant. Sources claimed last year however, that Diaz had planned to take time out of the spotlight in order to focus on starting a family with Madden.

Diaz and Madden married in January 2015 at her Beverly Hills home.
