With the transfer deadline fast approaching, Spain's big three look to have settled squads for the new season.

There could still be some transfer activity before October 5, but the line-ups of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are beginning to take shape.

Julio 'Maldini' Maldonado has collated his ideal XIs for each three teams heading into the new campaign.

Real Madrid

Thibaut Courtois; Dani Carvajal, Raphael Varane, Sergio Ramos, Ferland Mendy; Casemiro, Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Fede Valverde; Karim Benzema, Eden Hazard.

Maldini believes this system of four midfielders will get the best out of everyone involved.

Barcelona

Marc-Andre ter Stegen; Sergi Roberto, Gerard Pique, Clement Lenglet, Jordi Alba; Miralem Pjanic, Frenkie de Jong; Ansu Fati, Ousmane Dembele, Lionel Messi; Antoine Griezmann.

Maldini has gone for Pjanic over Sergio Busquets because he believes the Spaniard's best days after behind him, while he thinks Ansu Fati has a big role to play.

Atletico Madrid

Jan Oblak; Kieran Trippier, Jose Maria Gimenez, Felipe Augusto, Renan Lodi; Angel Correa, Thomas Partey, Koke, Saul Niguez; Joao Felix, Luis Suarez.

Maldini has chosen to leave out Marcos Llorente, who's form at the back end of last season was outstanding, in order to make room for new signing Suarez.

Which line-up do you think is best?
