Pomona was an overall very fun experience for me, I had gotten into their animal science pre-vet program and I can see why their motto is “learn by doing”. The hands on experience you get from your time here is incredible, especially as someone like myself who’s more of a visual learner. With the farm units we have on campus, anyone looking to major in anything animal or agriculture related will be pleased to know the amount of opportunities just waiting for you here at cal poly Pomona. The Campus itself is nice as well, I love the openness and greenery that surrounds it makes my walks to class much more enjoyable. I will be honest though, my experience at cal poly Pomona was made significantly better with being able to dorm on campus. I know it’s much more costly than commuting, but I have heard from many commuters that it’s hard to make any friends or find anything to do on campus.
My time at Cal Poly Pomona has been hands-on and practical, which I really appreciate. There are tons of opportunities for internships and real-world projects, however I find that you are limited to local opportunities.
I've found Cal Poly Pomona to offer a diverse range of academic programs, including engineering, business, agriculture, sustainability (regenerative studies), architecture, and more. I value the variety of options available to me and the opportunity to explore interdisciplinary interests. The faculty and staff are super supportive, and it's easy to connect with professors.
Parking can be a pain sometimes, especially if you have an electric vehicle and during busy hours. Like any school, there are occasional administrative hiccups.
Overall, Cal Poly Pomona has been a great experience for me. The campus views of the San Gabriel Mountains are beautiful and the mix of learning and real-world application has been exactly what I was looking for in a grad school experience.

It's such a beautiful campus! There are plenty of places to sit in nature and study since it is an agricultural-based school. I've taken both in-person classes and online, and they were equally great experiences. The professors have all been helpful and knowledgeable in their field of study.
