Cabrillo College Reviews
Rating 3.92 out of 5 715 reviews
Cabrillo has plenty of amazing, compassionate, kind professors. I had a great understanding of all the course material for every class I took, and the homework was never overbearing. The campus isn’t difficult to navigate and closely located to Capitola Beach and the Forest of Nisene Marks State Park, both beautiful locations. Up the street there’s a Safeway and in the other direction there’s a mini mart attached to a Chevron with lots of local sweets and snacks. Besides those spots, the immediate area is very quiet and empty past 7-8PM I’d say. Overall, I enjoyed my time at Cabrillo and I’m definitely going to miss it when I graduate.
It's been my third year attending Cabrillo College and so far I've enjoyed my time. I appreciate how accessible it is to receive help with tutoring or other student needs. For example, on the school website, multiple links help with finding student resources. Not only that but on the school campus it is quite easy to locate the student resource center. I also appreciate the effort the staff put into helping students apply for classes or work. Another thing I enjoy about the campus is that they have many seating areas where students can study or socialize. However, I would like for there to be more student events such as concerts, exhibitions, and activities. I'd also like for there to be more variety in the cafeteria when it comes to food, maybe more healthy choices. Another thing I'd like to see is for the library to be renovated as some of the desks are run down and the carpet is worn out.
Cabrillo served as a stepping stone in my academic journey, offering a somewhat mixed experience. The quality of online professors varied greatly—some were excellent, while others fell short. I would strongly advise utilizing platforms like Rate My Professors before enrolling in any classes.
One significant challenge I encountered was the inconsistency in class availability. On multiple occasions, the school did not offer the classes necessary for my graduation, resulting in the need to take them at other institutions. This was particularly frustrating, especially considering that these courses had been carefully planned with a counselor. While Cabrillo had its merits, these issues did impact the overall satisfaction of my academic experience.
