      Historical Civil War Drama

      I first saw the movie on HBO, on Demand. I wanted a copy of the movie, and found it on Wal-mart online, for around $8.76...free shipping to the store, nearest me. It is a true story, about jayhawkers, bushwhackers, who lived in the Missouri, Kansas, and other areas around the mid-west. Some of these states did send soldiers to the battlefronts, but some stayed home and fought on the home front. You were either a supporter for the Union, or Confederate. But, it was more dangerous to be in the middle, and not affiliated with either side. The Yankees would kill the men in the areas, and leave the women and children alive. The Yankees would burn down the houses, businesses, barns of the Confederates. This brought the Jayhawkers, and Bushwhacker...

      Outstanding Civil War movie!

      This is one of the best movies about the Civil War I've ever seen, maybe even better than "Glory." Historically very accurate with top notch cinematography and solid performances from the cast. The story centers around the Kansas/Missouri border war and Quantrell's Raiders. The way they recreated the sacking of Lawrence, KS was incredible! This Civil War buff highly recommends it.
