‘Masters of the Universe: Revelation’ Could Be Back Sooner Than You Expect
Masters of the Universe: Revelation is Netflix's newest reboot exploring the world of He-Man, Skeletor, Teela, Evil-Lyn, and the rest of the gang.
The show debuted its first five episodes, but five more are coming at a later date.
Here's when we predict the episodes could be on the way.
In Masters of the Universe: Revelation, now streaming on Netflix, filmmaker Kevin Smith (Clerks, Chasing Amy, Mallrats, and so on) revives the beloved characters of the original He-Man and the Masters of the Universe series (which aired between 1983 and 1985) for a brand new generation. Not only does he reboot the series (originally based on a line of Mattel toys), but he does so in a way that honors the past series, but upgrades the animation and has episodes filled with unexpected plot twists, rich characterizations, and a really awesome voice cast.
But fans of the series likely ate up the entire first half of the season—five episodes (all of which are between 25 and 27 minutes)—in a sitting or two. If you're left with your jaw dropped after that major Episode 5 ending cliffhanger, well, a) you're not alone, and b) there's good news: more episodes are on the way.
The five episodes of Masters of the Universe: Revelation that debuted are only Part 1 of the show's season, and there are five more episodes on the way. When will those episodes hit your Netflix screen though? That's a better question.
When will Masters of the Universe: Revelation return for Part 2?
We can be up front from the jump and say that we don't officially know. No release date for Masters of the Universe: Revelation's Part 2 of Season 1 has been revealed as of now. However, Smith has definitely been hard at work on the series, and over a year ago revealed that he'd seen every script for the season. So it's fair to assume that the next batch of episodes are either done or near done.
He also revealed back in June that he couldn't reveal the plot for Part 2 without spoiling Part 1 (which makes sense, now that we've seen how Part 1 plays out). But this lets us know that the season, for all intents and purposes, is wrapped up.
We can’t release a synopsis for Part 2 without spoiling Part 1. So any synopsis out there now would only be for Part 1. But our sprawling storyline is so full of twists & turns, I’ve yet to read an online theory about Revelation that’s ever come close to guessing the actual plot. https://t.co/W4AyfrfQrF

So what might be most valuable here is looking at how Netflix has released staggered seasons (aka: shows split into Part 1 and Part 2) in the past. One that comes to mind quickly is last year's reboot of Unsolved Mysteries. Different genre, yes, but we're just looking at the release pattern here. That show was ordered for a 12-episode season, and debuted its first six episodes on July 1, 2020, and the latter six came on October 19, 2020.
So, just using that logic, we could bee looking to potentially see Masters of the Universe: Revelation return in 3-ish months. Maybe around Halloween time? Not too long of a wait, hopefully! Smith is a lifelong nerd and a man of the people after all—he wouldn't keep us hostage that long, would he?
Either way, he's excited about what's to come. And if he gets the chance, already has a major plan for Season 2.
Or...
Once this comes out and the truth is revealed, I might get to do it again! I’ve had my second season plotted out for months, in case I do.
And in terms of whether it’s all been worth it? Making @MastersOfficial Revelation has been one of THE BEST experiences of my career! https://t.co/mmFlctwz5q pic.twitter.com/0c4iyx57vB— KevinSmith (@ThatKevinSmith) June 22, 2021
