Richard BENNETT Obituary

BENNETT - Richard Lloyd "Dick"
Of Orchard Park, NY, age 90, passed away December 26, 2022, was born November 14,1932 in Buffalo, NY. Dick is reunited in heaven with his wife, Margaret "Peggy" Bennett (nee Hammond). They married in July '55. Dick loved his family and is survived by four daughters, Suzanne Williams (Donald Van Every), Linda Shinn, Barbara Cline-Krueger and Nancy (Scott) Cline, 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, his brother Paul (Joyce) and his sister Elizabeth Bennett (Marietta Lorenzo). He graduated from Hamburg HS in 1950, where he was a member of the National Honor Society, marching band, the AV and debate clubs. He attended Cornell University studying Electrical Engineering. He transferred to the State University of NY at Buffalo, earning a B.S. in Business Administration; later becoming a Certified Financial Planner. Dick worked in finance for several local Western New York companies and ran his own accounting and financial planning services in his later years. Dick's passions included the home he and Peggy built in Orchard Park, playing cards with his family and cheering on the Buffalo Bills. Earlier in life he was active in his churches and the Orchard Park Kiwanis. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed league bowling. The family is grateful for the love and care the staff at Mercy Nursing Facility provided for Dick. A memorial service will be held in late spring or early summer for family and friends at Nativity of Our Lord in Orchard Park. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be directed to Feedmore WNY.
