MITCHELL - Edward
Beloved Husband, Father, Son, and Friend, entered into eternal rest on July 8, 2022. Husband of the late Adeline (nee Palmer) Mitchell. Edward, the only son of three children, was born to the late Zellner Mitchell and Fannie Mae Watson in Gainesville, Alabama, on July 12, 1937. He graduated from Sumter County Training School. After graduation, Edward relocated to Buffalo, New York, where he resided with his late Auntie Dee Dee. He began his career as a foreman at General Motors, where he retired in 1989. Edward met and married the love of his life, Adeline Palmer, and they worked diligently to provide a value-based foundation for their son, Dennis Mitchell. Edward was a faithful servant of God. He was a faithful member of Pilgrim Baptist Church and was a dedicated deacon and Male Choir member. Edward leaves to cherish precious memories of his days spent in his caring and sharing life, his loving and devoted son, Dennis Mitchell
of Concord, North Carolina; two grandchildren, Jason and Kayla Mitchell of Concord, North Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Adeline (Palmer) Mitchell; and sisters, Mary Mitchell and Zellna Mitchell. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 13, 2022, 10 AM at Pilgrim Baptist Church, 665 Michigan Avenue. Funeral Services will follow at 11 AM. Interment Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
