We live about 25 minutes away and have always wanted to visit but never got around to it. I’m so glad we finally did! Fonthill is such a unique place - equal parts weird, wonderful, mysterious and fascinating, it’s unlike any “home” you’ve ever been to (yes, it was the residence of one man, Henry Mercer). But the best part was our tour guide, Joe. He was incredibly knowledgeable and answered all of our questions with patience and good humor. JUST GO - you’ll be glad you did. NOTE: This is not a tour for people that have mobility issues as there are many stairs involved.

Absolutely wonderful and friendly staff. Delicious wine, beautiful venue. We did a wine tasting with Bill, he was very friendly and knowledgable. We adore Tom Sr., he’s always very personable

The Mercer Museum is incredible! My adult son was in town from California and I wanted something "touristy" for us to do that was NOT in Philadelphia. After living near here for almost 30 years, this was our first visit, and it did not disappoint. Mr. Mercer was a collector of pre-industrial tools and designed and built this museum to house his collection. It is six stories tall and displays such things as a grist mill, a gallows, a whaleboat, and a very interesting vampire hunting kit. The museum is full of so many interesting artifacts you could spend days in there and not see everything. The building itself is poured concrete and has many quirky rooms, corners and stairs.

In most ways, this is a run-of-the-mill amusement park. It is much more interesting during warmer seasons.

    Still nice place
To walk and shop with some really nice and some fun of the mill “tourist” type shops. Went to see gingerbread house competition which was interesting On days like this it becomes very crowded and parking is kind of crazy. But still no charge for parking or entry.

We drove about 1.5 hr to get here, so I was nervous I was going to be disappointed, but it was sooo worth the trip! We spent 4 hours here and could've stayed longer. Pack a lunch, there are plenty of shaded tables. My son is only 2 so I didn't know if the castle would be dangerous, but I was able to climb through most parts with him, and he really did fine all by himself. He even went down the big slides all by himself countless times. He had a blast, and so did I! Can't wait for more warm weather to come back.

First, the good. "White Christmas" was a delightful show with great singing and dancing. It does vary from the movie but that kept it interesting. The bad: parking now costs $30. at the playhouse, which I find unreasonable and taking advantage of their customers. The ugly: the bathroom situation. I have never experienced anything quite like it. It was a full house and they only had four stalls in the ladies room. Everyone had to line up, single file, on the steps. It took forever. Upon leaving you have to go down the opposite side of where you are sitting to get back to your seat. There has to be a better way. I would still recommend the Playhouse as the production was so enjoyable. Just beware of parking costs and maybe wear a diaper!

I am revising a previous review upward. Parx could get a 5-star review, except for my experience that the slots, especially poker machines, rarely pay anything substantial. However, we go as a couple and my wife has had some decent luck, which was a turnaround after several visits.
On the plus side, the staff is excellent, polite and professional. The place is clean and well-lit. And the sports betting venue is first-class, like a small movie theater.
Again, though, a shame the slots aren't better.

    Five out of five.
Thoroughly enjoyed the quality and size of this art museum’s exhibits where I could linger and not exhaust myself traipsing through many large halls or a larger art museum. The outdoor sculpture garden, the outstanding gift shops, and of course, the temporary exhibits, were all memorable and inspiring. The Japanese wood block exhibit was very thorough in its representation and explanations of the process. Even the sales lady taking admission and ringing up purchases was unusually kind and welcoming. Highly recommend going.

Honestly the seats are all good. We are not paying supporters but we were able to upgrade our seats after the paid members had a chance at them. Very friendly and helpful people work there!

Close proximity to road and parking. Nice to see some family's still educate their children outside of school. Go ahead and take a hammer with you and try several rocks. Very exciting for the young and young at heart.

We went there within a week of the cross. The current in the river was 3-5 mph so it gave us an impression of how difficult the crossing would have been. The museum was informative with a good description of the battle in Trenton and its effect on the Revolutionary War. It also helped dispel a few myths. The Park is Managed by the State of Pennsylvania and is a short drive from Philadelphia, which gives you a good view of how close Washington came to being overwhelmed when spring came.
