Absolutely love this area. Spectacular views across the East River of Downtown Manhattan including Brooklyn Bridge and the Freedom Tower. The area is also well kept and clean. There are a lot fo eating options in the area...especially if you are willing to walk away from the water for a few blocks. The only and biggest ge is parking. If you choose to drive there...parking is very tough and can be frsutrating. There are limited and expensive parking lots in the area. Your best bet is to look for a spot closer to the Borough Hall area, which has some meters (up to 2 hours) and alternate side street restrictions, and walk toward the water. Of course you can take the train (High Street - Brooklyn Bridge) station to get you within walking distance to the waterfront as well.

We took the ferry over from Manhattan to Brooklyn Bridge Park. It’s a lovely walk with great views of Manhattan. You can walk right by the piers and water or more within the park, which feels like you might be in a zoo. There is a playground, a dog park, restaurants and rest rooms. Gorgeous landscaping and very clean.

November end was pretty cold for NYC.
With temperatures around 0-5 celsius, it still was a bright sunny day.
It had a spectacular view of the skyline of NYC.
One could spend all day here.
There are rock climbing walls, you will notice people on their bikes, along with roller skating rink, basket ball courts etc.

This park is fantastic. It is probably one of the best parks in New York City for the views alone. You truly feel like your in Hollywood with the back drop of the city and the overview of Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan Bridge. From a distance you can see the Statue of Liberty and the busy traffic of the New York waters. The park itself is such an amazing getaway to spend time with family and friends.

The Brooklyn Bridge was completed in 1883. It connects the NYC boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn. The bridge was the first fixed crossing of the East River. The Brooklyn Bridge Park is a glorious revival of an industrial wasteland, taking in 85 acres (34 hectares) and 1,3 miles (2 km) of revitalized waterfront. Following an agreement between the State and NYC governments, work on the park began in 2007. We stayed in the Park Slope neighborhood of Brooklyn, the area is quite safe these days, and the Brooklyn Bridge Park makes a good walk.

I changed my major at Temple this year to geography and urban studies and people think I’m a geography buff!! I am not that much of one but city life and cities bring me much joy!! I did a random presentation once about bathrooms in the city and how ladies always need to wait in very long lines!! I put a picture of the Bryant park bathroom and walked past it a few days after and I ran into someone who I haven’t talked to since fifth grade!! I happen to enjoy parks in the city and I went to this park today!! It was very green and had a lot of trees and flowers!! I happen to think nature is very good for a busy man who wants to chill!! They had a volleyball court and fountains and also a pizza place which we got lunch at!!

If you make it to Brooklyn when in NYC you have to stop here. The view is just incredible. Breath taking if you like a good skyscraper view. It was one of if not the best picture spot we found during our trip. It's right on the water so it is windy and a tad chilly sometimes so maybe bring a pony tail and a jacket.

TIPS
1. Best time to go is the morning. Mostly people walking dogs, kids in strollers, runners and bicyclists.
2. Avoid the crowds near the foot of Brooklyn Bridge especially on weekends and holidays.
3. If you have young kids or are sensitive to second-hand smoke, know that the pot smokers all come out at night, ruining the fresh air near the water and on the lawns.

We had initially visited the Brooklyn bridge but later discovered the best view comes from the Brooklyn bridge park. So visited again. There is also multi-brand restaurants place there which was quite happening.

I love getting to visit Brooklyn Bridge Park! Everyone likes to take instagram photos of DUMBO on Water St, but I think this park is the best. You have amazing views of the bridge and the Statue of Liberty if you walk down farther. There is plenty of space to run or walk your dog, and in the summer time, there are workout classes in the evenings and tons of programming and events. Pebble beach and the carousel some of my favorite spots.
