Brendan A. Maher

Brendan A. Maher is a judge on the 17th Circuit Court, 3rd Subcircuit, in Illinois. He was appointed by the Illinois Supreme Court to a temporary term beginning August 2, 2010. He was elected on Nov. 6, 2012 for a term that expires in December of 2018.[1][2][3]
Education
Maher received his B.A. in psychology and secondary education from Augustana College in 1992. He earned his J.D. from Valparaiso University School of Law in 1997.[1]
Career
After graduating from law school, Maher practiced law with the firm WilliamsMcCarthy LLP for almost 12 years. In January 2009, he became an assistant U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois.[1]
2012 election
Maher was elected without opposition on Nov. 6, 2012. He was unopposed in the Republican primary on March 20, 2012.[4][2]
