- deepakgupta5Vancouver, Canada610 contributionsA quick break on the way to WhistlerThis waterfall is quite impressive and is a very short & easy walk from the parking lot. The nearby trails are not that impressive and there is a small lake less than a KM away but again it is not worth the trip. It is a good spot to take a short break on the way to WhistlerVisited May 2023Written May 28, 2023
- John BSutton-on-Sea, United Kingdom333 contributionsMagical Brandywine FallsA short walk from the car park, the 70 metre falls are really pretty and were at full flow and really impressive. There are views of Daisy Lake and the surrounding countryside. Well worth the visit before a visit to Whistler and the road beyond with the chance of seeing Eagles and Black Bears if you are lucky.Visited May 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten June 20, 2023
- BunchkinCourtenay, Canada211 contributionsAnother Gem in BCWonderful location easy access on and off the highway. An easy uphill walk on a wide path that is well marked, no fear of getting lost. Toilets are at the parking lots. Walk to the end for a view to the end of the stream that comes down from the falls. Total walk there and back is maybe 45 minutes.Visited June 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten June 24, 2023
- tamar kTucson, Arizona83 contributionsEASY...very well worth it!EASY...very well worth it! Just park car in lot, follow the wide path towards the falls. Very short walk and the view platform is wide and perfectly placed. You then can continue the walk for a little way to see a wide-open expanse view of the lake beyond. There may be other hiking trails there but, we didn't look for them.Visited July 2023Written July 23, 2023

It was a lovely stop off with a lovely view. There were a couple of other trails to follow but we didn't do those hikes so I can't report on those.Visited July 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten August 3, 2023

The falls themselves are roughly a 15-minute easy walk from the carpark. Sadly, when we visited the weather was very wet. However, this didn't stop us from having a look, and to be honest, sometimes things look better in bad weather than they do in glorious weather!Visited September 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten January 5, 2024
- William HurlOntario, Canada90 contributionsNice, Quiet retreat from the Whistler crowdsThis was a nice little reprieve from the tourist trap town of Whistler. It’s about 20 kms away and when we were there it was very quiet and peaceful. The trails are not treacherous and the views and smells of nature are exactly what you expect to see in British Columbia. I could’ve stayed here all day. There was no entry fee when we were there, not sure if that’s the norm. If you’re in Whistler take a break here.Visited September 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten May 1, 2024

My family of four (two kids aged 7 and 4) stopped here en route to Whistler from Vancouver. This was a really beautiful, easy and family-friendly hike to an impressive falls. It also provided us a much needed break from the road!

Very pretty short hike of about a half mile with little elevation. Lovely views of waterfalls and mountains with plenty of opportunities for picture taking. Convenient stop on the way to Whistler. Even in the snow, the trail was hard packed enough that people could push baby strollers. It's nice that pets are allowed. We had young and older people and everyone enjoyed it.

The main trail here is a short, easy, and picturesque walk to a platform from which to view the falls. The route is, for the most part, wide and paved. The only “choke point” is a small bridge over a stream near the entrance. Beyond the main viewing platform, there are a couple of further viewpoints from which to take photos and admire the surroundings. This park is an excellent choice for families.

Pretty place to go for a slow stroll. Heard pikas in the rock piles at parking lot and near train tracks. Unfortunately people do not understand how to stay ion trails and go on the rocks and also around the other side of the falls. Please do not be one of these people.

The parking was limited on a busy Sunday afternoon but after 10 minutes, we were able to secure a spot. The trails were well maintained with flattened gravel, making it easy for mountain bikers, walkers and strollers alike. The falls are a few minutes from the parking lot. If you take the Sea to Sky trail, you can get to the Bungee bridge, which is entertaining in itself. Nice park for an afternoon hike.

Does anyone know if you can swim in the Falls area during the summer months? We are planning to head here in August and our family is full of strong swimmers....didn't know if this area is reachable or mainly just for the "view". Thanks!!

No, not a swimming hole. Too dangerous and forbidden.

Is this area usually hike able during the beginning of April?
Joshua C
Canada172 contributions
in most winters, early April will probably mean that the area still has snow. And if it's not snow it'll be wet with melted snow. So dress accordingly - warm layers and waterproof.
Last winter was the warmest in the past 100 years so early April there was probably very little snow.
