all these bands did so much for the subsequent appreciation of the original artists. so many songs i heard a british or american group's version first.
J Geils responsible for at least a 1/2 dozen.

rest in peace, J.

yes that, and also "full house" (the first one i heard, as a child)
many people don't know how J Geils was so good, before it turned to such stinky crap at the hands of seth justman and peter wolf that Mr. Geils left his own band.
i so wish he'd fired them instead and gotten back on track.

Mike Pinder: The singer and writer behind one of the most phenomenal stereo songs for its time "The Best Way to Travel" has passed away. I remember being at Grandma's house in Lincoln visiting when my brother Steve handed his fancy headphones to me in 1968 and played the song on a cassette and I could not believe the stereo effect! 4 channel sound in 2 channels in 1968!!! Been a total fave since!

The Moody Blues, like Pink Floyd were a 60s psychedelic band turned 70s prog/space rock band. But unlike Floyd there were less overrated.
