referencing Patchwork (LP, Album) ST-494
I found a super clean copy, no inserts, but did have a collector-grade poly/paper inner. Well cared for after 50 + years. ANY Bobbie Gentry you see out in the wilds of Recordland, get it. She is amazing on all levels: singer, songwriter, storyteller. That she's an auteur has been overlooked until recently. This album's a loose concept a la "The Delta Sweete". This time the story revolves around what is probably Bobbie's own story of growing up in the Deep South, heading to SoCal (she attended UCLA on a scholarship), hitchhiking around, meeting all kindsa characters rendered in Faulkneresque fashion, and falling in and out of love. If not outright fans, I'd say subsequent female megastars who blurred the lines between country, pop, soul and rock have to answer to Bobbie Gentry. She was there first.referencing Patchwork (LP, Album) ST-494
FYI... I just purchased a sealed copy of this... based upon the shrink, paper inner, and LP condition I'm like 99%+ certain it was not a re-seal or return, and it did NOT have the insert. Tempted to edit the actual listing to say "may include insert" or "some copies include insert" but worried about The Edit Police so just leaving this note for now...
