Sinister Summer (Wicks Hollow Book 1) Kindle Edition

A sexy professor.
A logical lawyer.
A determined ghost.
And a very real killer...

Welcome to Wicks Hollow: a cozy town near Lake Michigan filled with quaint houses, eccentric residents, and more than its share of ghosts, murders, and romance.

Diana Iverson needs a break--from her stressful job, from her philandering boyfriend, and from the rest of her fast-paced life. When she inherits her eccentric Aunt Jean's home on Wicks Lake, Diana takes a much-needed vacation in the cozy little town.

But when the lake house becomes the scene of multiple break-ins and other unsettling events, Diana begins to suspect Aunt Jean’s death was not as innocent as it seems.

And then there’s Ethan Murphy, the sexy college professor who lives next door… He appears to know a lot more about Aunt Jean than he should, and Diana doesn’t trust him.

But most of all, there's Aunt Jean herself…who seems determined to communicate with Diana—from beyond the grave.

A ghost story romance set in a small town, featuring a cozy mystery about a ghost that just won’t rest until justice is served. The perfect blend of romance, suspense, and ghosts.

A good mystery for a rainy day. Main characters that seemed believable and real. Especially enjoyed the main character Diana, whose standofishness wasn't malicious but coming from a place of self-protection. Also appreciated how much she cared about her dead aunt, though they had little in common, and the fact that though there was a ghost in this story it didn't turn it corny.

I am always looking for new authors to read. It was just luck that I happened upon Colleen Gleason, but I am so happy that I did. The book was fantastic and the characters were larger than life. I would recommend this book and this author to anyone. I am looking forward to reading the next book.

Description is not my thing. Skipped that. The Tuesday ladies, yeah skipped that. Tarot, yeah not for me! Supernatural, yeah that's okay. I read paranormal series. So what was left, the romance and the plot or mystery.

Strangely I would recommend the book. It was a good read and I liked characters. Kept my attention and enjoyed the banter between the two main characters! A little spice, A little romance and gotcha!
I am even gonna read the next one.

I liked the storyline. The plot was good. It flowed well and the characters were likable. Only thing was I wish the ending had a little more too it. But it was still a good story.

Love love love this audio book. I've read this book a few time, whats really magic audio this audio version, is that it is read by the author herself. This mean you get the best feel for the story, as when the author is reading any on the character speech, you know exactly what tone the character is speaking in. Also you feel the passion of the story, given off in the authors voice. Would highly recommend

Totally in love with this book, it's a wonderful story filled with mystery, secrets and some sadness, but most of all great charcters, the story really had me giggling away to my self at some part, I could imagine being sat in the room with some of the character and feel the tention, love and humor between them.

The story had me gripped from the start, and has some good twists, although the story starts with a very sad death and a horrible secret that has came to light, the story continues on to become a fabulous life changing experience filled with new love, friendship and community spirit (pun intended) but also make you think about your own family and friends that you may not have spoken to in a while.

I have just downloaded the next book in the set, and can't wait to read the other books to follow in this series.

If you love suspense, romance, supernatural hauntings and a good mystery then this book will not disappoint

2.0 out of 5 stars Too much sappy romance

If you are in to the typical romance style of boy and girl falling for each other but refuse to admit it while constantly falling all over each other with smoldering looks and hot tingles then this is for you. Too much romance not enough ghost and mystery for my tastes. I couldn't finish it but it will be someone's cup of tea.

Another great read from Colleen. As a fan I was keen to see how she had re worked this first novel in the Wicks Hollow series having read the originals and she didn’t disappoint. I loved the changes to plot and the early introduction of characters I know appear in the other stories. I don’t often re read books but given how much I love Colleen’s writing style I wanted to give the adaptations a go. I’m glad I did and looking forward to the remaining ‘sinister’ mysteries.
