- KellyPreston, United Kingdom6 contributionsWhat a fab place!Compelled to review this place after such a wonderful day out with my teen! Honestly it was an impromptu decision that was a great one at that! I can’t remember feeling all the feels, excitement, happiness, nervousness and having so much fun and actual belly laughs in a long while! Really really is worth the money providing you actual go on all that they offer. We went in max capacity o think there were 3 tickets left when we booked last minute and it wasn’t overly busy probs waited less than 10 mins for all the rides if not less! So much to say about this place ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️Thank you for review, we are delighted you enjoyed your visit. We look forward to seeing you again soon. - DebbieStanley, United Kingdom7 contributionsToo many people not enough water spaceI never been to a waterpark that allows as many people in at once. Plenty of life guards. The young lady that give us our bands didn't look like she enjoyed her job. A person eating food in the pool and another spat on the stairs near slide. I would not revisit this attraction.Thank you for your review and your feedback. - Paul TWarrington, United Kingdom53 contributionsTop notch day outJust a great day out. My 8 year old lad loves it here, second trip this year today after we visited again in Spring. Not mega cheap to visit but worth it, food and drink at pretty reasonable prices too. VERY busy and loud but it doesn't bother him at all, even though he has mild autism, as he has so much fun! Highly recommended!Thank you for your review, we are delighted to read you enjoyed your visit We look forward to seeing you again soon. - MrsM11 contributionsGo early! We went mid week in the first available session which I would recommend . Go early and use all the big slides first before exploring the rest of the pools because it gets busy fast! Changing rooms and pool appeared clean and staff were helpful. Over all a good experience!Visited July 2023Traveled with familyWritten July 10, 2023
- Gareth H1 contributionFantastic day out. The whole day flew by!Amazing waterpark with so many rides. My two kids loved it and they had a fantastic day. The water roller coaster was my favourite and i also liked the doughnut ride On a functional note the changing rooms were clean and modern and I felt very safe letting my two children (both swimmers) go off and play, safe in the knowledge that there were so many friendly and vigilant lifeguards keeping an eye out for them. We will definitely go there again.Thank you for your review, we are delighted to read you enjoyed your visit Thank you also for your feedback regarding the changing rooms, we will pass this on to the team. - No_Need_2_Lie38 contributionsGreat day out!!We went to the first session and so glad we did because by the time we were leaving the changing rooms were so busy we could just about get a cubicle to change in. The venue itself was quite clean again maybe due to being the first session we mainly left our coloured wristband in the pool and got out before you had a swarm of different people coming in and out. The pool area was great for all ages. We had a baby with us and a toddler and we were able to go on 3 slides which they thoroughly enjoyed. Hence why you dont pay for under 3’s which is great and im happy they are not a money hungry establishment like other Blackpool attractions. The slides is definitely 100% for older children I’d say 6 and above as they can go on everything all slides but for little ones there is plenty of little water grounds with climbing apparatus for them and towards the very back a quiet hidden playground which was just lovely we spent most time there just splashing people as they walked pass. Overall a great day out and we’ll be back again when we visit BlackpoolThank you for your review, we are delighted to read you enjoyed your visit We look forward to seeing you again soon. - NicolaBradford, United Kingdom67 contributionsFantastic but expensiveTo start with the parking is right outside and a bargain at £9 for 12 hours compared to the other car parks we have visited in Blackpool We were booked in for 9:30 5 adults , 1 teen 1 five year old , the reception area is lovely and clean and well maintained! We were let in at 9:15 as it was very quiet ( surprising as it was 1st day of the holidays) The changing rooms were fresh and clean and the lockers were nice and big , much prefer having the electric bands than horrible key ones stuck on your wrist whilst swimming . The slides were fab , my teen had done all of them within the first hour as it was quiet , my daughter liked the range of kids slide’s especially the family race one I like that they provide the ring floaters to go around the lazy river , it made it great fun There’s just so much to do ! We waited 20 minutes for the wave pool to start , the music came on and the waves started it was fab for approximately 3 minutes , we couldn’t believe how short it was ! We didn’t eat there so can’t comment on the food . Only knocked one star off because of the price , £90 for a family of four , it’s just so expensive when times are tough ! If it was £15 each I’d be tempted to come back but at £90 for us 4 I can’t justify it unfortunatelyThank you for your review, we are delighted to read you enjoyed your visit Thank you also for your feedback regarding the slides and attractions aswel as the pricing. We will ensure this is passed back to the relevant manager. - nicholajane8 contributionsOkay - but not worth the moneyIt’s OK. Though i felt not worth the money. Slides are good though the length of the lines to go on each seems extreme. We went on a Thursday in july. We went on 6 slides max during the 3 hour time slot. The main slide had to be closed multiple times during our visit as riders were stuck and had to be evacuated. I feel like to many people are admitted at the one time to make more profit which is detrimental to those in attendance. We have booked to return to blackpool next year and my 9 year old water baby wanted to make sure we would not be visiting sandcastle again. Not because he does not love the water (he really does) but because he was frustrated with the wait times and feels like his time in holiday would be better spent elsewhere. Really is a shame - has the potential to be wonderful!Thank you for your review, I was sorry to read that you did not enjoy your visit. Sandcastle Waterpark is extremely popular and does get busy, particularly at peak times such as the school holidays. if you would like to discuss this further please email admin@sandcastle-waterpark.co.uk. - Hollysmummy24Redditch, United Kingdom51 contributionsGood but too busyVisited this waterpark many times over the years and always loved it. Today though it was fully booked and it was RAMMED. You could move in any of the pool areas without getting kicked pushed or shoved it was like sardines. There was also quite a bit of debris in the pools today like plasters and clumps of hair. I’ve never known it to be grubby like this on any of the other visits. Really long wait for food, for burgers and chips I’ve no idea why that should be the case. But the food is nice . Also has a nice gift shopThank you for your review and your feedback. As a family of four, two parents and two children under 10, we visited the Sandcastle on 31st August 2020 after reading on their website that they 'operate on a significantly reduced capacity to ensure that social distancing can take place in all areas of our building and throughout the Waterpark'.
After being advised to wear masks upon entry to the reception area (this was not enforced by staff), we entered the poolside.
Upon entry, it was instantly clear that the pool was at near full capacity and staff were not enforcing the 3 hour swim times. Loudspeaker announcements were inaudible and unintelligible, and so swimmers were clearly leaving at their allotted time, and lifeguards and staff were not asking anyone to finish their swim and exit.
We arrived at 3pm and the pool, already extremely crowded, kept getting busier. It was impossible to social-distance safely between swimmers due to the sheer amount of people in the water.
There were painted 2m markers for ride queues, but where these hadn't rubbed off, people were not obeying them.
We left after two hours, an hour earlier than allowed. We felt misled by the veneer of social-distancing measures on the website and reception area, and would not have ever booked if we had known how overcrowded it was beforehand.
This is clearly an instance of profits before safety, and the managers of the waterpark should be ashamed of the misinformation and mismanagement of Sandcastle during a pandemic.
Suffice to say, we won't be back.

Thank you for your review, I have the following comments in response;
Your booking confirmation (as you mention) advises guests to wear face masks whilst in Reception - our staff are not required to wear face masks (some do choose to wear them through personal choice), they also respect social distancing when interacting with our guests.
We have operated at 40% of our usual capacity since we reopened and just to confirm that our staff do enforce the 3 hour session time - as per the announcements that are made every 30 minutes requesting wristband wearers of a certain colour to leave the pools and make their way to the changing rooms.
I'm not sure why you claim staff weren't enforcing the 3 hour swim - you clearly heard announcements. Similarly, this is why, at 30 minute intervals a number of guests leave the pool area.
I appreciate that the wave pool sees an influx of guests when the waves are turned on - this is to be be expected given the nature of this attraction but it is the responsibility of guests, where possible, to ensure they remain within their group/bubble and keep 2 meters apart - this is a requirement within the terms and conditions of entry (all additional measures in place for guests are the responsibility of guests to adhere to throughout their visit).
Markers rubbed off - sorry, but these have been replaced, resprayed and relaid when needed since we reopened and are clearly visible.
Our team have worked hard to prepare our Waterpark for reopening and many changes have been implemented for the safety of our team members and guests - there reality of the situation is that there is no veneer either in Reception or in Waterpark as these were all filmed once everything was in place and has remained in place - just a few days before we opened.
A typical summer for Sandcastle Waterpark and our visitors would usually involve a 2/3 hour queue just for admission and significant queues for slides and attractions once inside and we certainly haven't been in the position this year.
Our team have worked hard to ensure we were able to reopen so that guests could enjoy a day with us. We continue to work hard, not just to cover the significant and substantial running costs involved within our business but also so that those guests that choose to visit, are able to spend some quality leisure time with their families following unprecedented and challenging times. Every guest has different expectations and it is difficult to meet these for everyone. Profits before safety aren't an ethos we are familiar with, neither is the giving of misinformation or mismanagement. And just to clarify - we have nothing to be ashamed of - we are proud of the way our team has reacted to operating our Waterpark since we reopened - they have gone above and beyond to deliver the best experience possible during unprecedented and challenging times.
Once again, thank you for taking the time to post your review.

I visited with my partner, 8 year old and 10 year old. We expected it to be busy so we booked an early slot at 9.30 with the hopes we would be able to get on some slides and enjoy the pool before it got absolutely packed. What we didn’t expect was for the slots to over lap, as the time went on more and more people arrived until it got to the point we could hardly move, you literally couldn’t even move a limb without it touching someone else.
The queues for the slides became horrendous, having to stand around for over half an hour just to go on one.
I can’t see how it can possibly be safe to have that many people in there. I found all the signs advising you to stay at least a meter apart amusing as this was impossible.
I found the life guards to be incredibly aggressive, especially the bald one overlooking the wave pool. I saw one little boy drift with his life jacket on a few inches past the sign and the lifeguard screamed at him with the most horrible look on his face, scared the life out of this poor child.
I’m disappointed I paid over £80 for a visit as it is no way worth it with how many people they pack in. We ended up leaving an hour early as it was very stressful.

A brilliant day out of all ages. I was a bit sceptical after reading reviews (booked tickets then decided to look at reviews).
Easy booking system online. Great, friendly staff on arrival.
Given an electronic key for our lockers, (small £4 deposit, £3 back on return of handing them in) which can also be used to top up money to spend on the cafe inside so you can leave wallets in locker. You can go back and forth to the lockers from the pool however next time i will wear flip flops to and from.
The actual water park is brilliant. My 10 & 13 year old had a fantastic 3 hours. Only once were they made to come and sit out for 5 to have a drink then they were straight back in. Other than that not once did they come to me at the cafe.
I did half an hour or so. Went on some of the big slides had a swim. Felt like a teenager again. The big slides are fantastic!
You can sit in the cafe dressed or in swimwear.
The only downside is the cafe is ‘table service’. I sat waiting for 15 minutes not to be served. I then went up to the cashier. Only to be told it’s table service and she’ll take my order at the table. Someone slowly followed me over. Wrote on a scrap piece of paper what I wanted. To then hand that to me and I was instructed to take it to the cashier to pay. I went back and another lady couldn’t understand what was written so i had to tell them anyway what I wanted. I then paid and sat back down and waited a further 15 minutes for 3 bottles of soft drink and a coffee.
This does need to be tweaked a bit. If we ordered food it would have been over an hour from ordering and receiving, which in fairness is a big chunk of the 3 hours in there. They do need more attentive staff in the cafe and a different ordering method.
It was clean, organised and a comfortable place to spend a few hours.
We will definitely be going again!

I have visited before, though have not been for some time; the biggest plus during this visit is that all the slides are included in the admission price. During previous visits, these have been at extra charge. However, I did feel that the admission for two adults, a teen and a five year old - £81 with locker - was expensive for what is actually available.
The park was extremely busy, to the point at times you couldn’t swim more than a metre or so in any direction without bumping into another swimmer, and the water was very concentrated with chemicals which caused sore eyes in myself and my daughter.
My five year old enjoyed himself, though I’d be unlikely to bring him again due to the cost and availability of slides suitable for him.
The biggest compliment I can give this place however was to the water safety team. When ever the waves were on, the lifeguards positioned themselves around the wave pool at close intervals (maybe six of them), with an additional lifeguard in the pool itself, reminding parents of non swimmers to ensure they didn’t pass the dedicated point. This was reassuring and led to feeling safe within the pool.
Entry to the pool was quick and easy, and all staff were friendly and professional.
Cleanliness was as expected - a bit shabby in places but mainly due to the carelessness of other guests than a lack of attention to detail.
Overall, a little disappointed. I have had better experiences here than I did this time. It ultimately boils down to value for money, which I sadly don’t feel is there for a few hours swimming.

Great place to go with the family. We went with a party of seven, four adults and three kids. All kids were 8 and over. The park is slightly on the expensive side with the additional slide fees and spa fees but it’s worth it. All of us throughly enjoyed ourselves. We got there for 10am, paid in and put a tenner on a wrist band for a few snacks and drinks saving the messing around going to and from the lockers. We stayed for three hours and all of us got on all the rides which had about 5 minute queues for each one. The adults took it in turns to use the spa which was really nice (peaceful and abit of time for ourselves 😀)
Overall perfect activity loved it!!!!

Fantastic visit to the sandcastle today. We took our 2 and a half year old, who absolutely loved it. Her dad also had a fab time on the bigger slides. Lots of different things to do- different features spraying, lazy river, waves and slides: 3 hours was plenty of time and we felt it was well worth the money. Customer service was also great and managed to resolve a booking problem quickly (which was entirely our mistake).
The only fault (why we’ve given 4 stars) was the food service was organised in a really bizarre way, which was a bit of a pain with a young child. The staff in the cafe were lovely though and really helpful too. All in all- a solid 4 stars from us.

Overall very overpriced for what it is. We booked online and had a 3 hour tome slot which we didn't end up staying as it was far too busy. There were plenty of lockers and changing rooms but once in the pool area there were far too many people and signs all over about social distancing which is impossible. Food in the cafe is also expensive, we ended up walking over to the wetherspoons over the road. The only reason I give it 3 stars is because the children in our group really enjoyed themselves which was the main aim but not enjoyable for the adults.

Me and my partner decided this was a must visit on our trip to Blackpool. You need to book online (which is the way mostly nowadays), its the only way you can go, you cant book over the phone and you defo cant just turn up on the day expecting to go, so no spare of the moment trip there. We went on August bank holiday weekend and it was fully booked by the time we went, it mainly was everyday, there facebook page does regular updates. It was £61 for us both, this was for the spa as well which is a optional extra of £10 for two people. You get 3 hour sessions for everything, we booked for 11-2. When we turned up we got asked if we wanted to do flexi cash which basically means you pay for money to be put on your wristband so you don’t have to go back and get your card or phone when you use the cafe, we also paid a couple of quid for the locker, this is refundable on your exit though, along with any cash you don’t spend when inside. We had our swimwear under our clothes so we quickly entered the waterpark. The problems we had with the place was there idea of full capacity was just too high, there was way too many people allowed in on timeslots, and this affects your visit, you need to queue to get a inflatable to ride the slides then you need to queue for the slides, we thought surely there could be a better system for the inflatables, like they give you it just before you go down the slide, so you don’t need to carry it up and queue twice. The queues where big, they did go down fairly quick, though theres no chance you could ride all 18 slides in 3 hours let alone all of them more than that. We had a incident on one slide where we come out of one of our inflatables, it was a two person inflatable (think it was the aztec one) , but this was just one of them things where we hit a side while going down, not any fault of the waterpark really, we managed to get down to the bottom without it luckily. We only got to go on 3 slides, one we went on twice, it was the longest one, we really enjoyed that one. The spa was ok for ten pound, nothing amazing but decent enough, few rooms, foot spa and heat loungers. If we had to weigh up our whole experience then we would not rate this place very high, a bit disappointed really, might be better at quieter time of the year though.

A large family get together from Australia Derbyshire and Blackpool. There was enough to keep everyone busy no matter the age we spent over 4 hours here. It felt safe the 11 year olds going off on their own has they can swim but knowing they was all under one roof. Definitely going to be back again

Great water park with lots of fun areas for families and kids. Changing rooms are clean and plenty of lockers. The only down fall would be the 30min time a lot for each new group, this caused immense over crowding in the water park and made it impossible to social distance, with more people in every 30mins with 3hr time slots per person, you can imagine how crowded it had become if everyone was staying the full 3hrs. We arrived at 10.10am and by the time it hit 11am it was jam packed.

Hello I receive pip as I’m disabled. Blackpool tower and attractions allow disabled guests ticket and cater tickets with showing my receipt of pip letter. I’d this the same at the water park ?

Other than that there’s no limitations and you can go on everything providing you have the capability to do so, hope this helps.

Hello- taking my teen for her birthday (13) with some friends- is there a cafe or some where to sit in the foyer as they won’t need me in there but don’t want to go far?

It's still a full price ticket needed to sit in by pool. There is cafe by entrance though think you cam sit there maybe without paying admission.
