Fire crews are in attendance at a blaze on a busy street in central Birmingham.

At 18:30 BST, West Midlands Fire Service said they had deployed multiple crews to the scene of the fire on Broad Street.

Due to the fire brigade blocking the tracks on Broad Street, trams were unable to run between between Library at Centenary Square and Edgbaston Village.

West Midlands Police said: "We're supporting partners from West Midlands Fire Service as they deal with this fire and likewise urge people to avoid the area if at all possible while their crews deal with the situation."
