What an absolutely beautiful place to stay. We were only in the area for
two nights but treated ourselves to this luxurious resort. Highly recommend. There was not one detail unattended to that surpassed our expectations.

My husband and young toddler spent 4 nights at the Biltmore in July. It was a lovely experience, but not worth the exorbitant price. For us, it was the service and rooms that fell flat.

For the hefty price tag that comes with high season, the rooms are too small (average size hotel rooms). It was also quite dark and the furnishings were a bit tired. I appreciate that the decor was intentionally "historic" to match the charm of the hotel, but it has been done better by other properties with a similar history.

The service was not great. There were three occasions I made requests from the concierge and I had to follow up on each occasion because my request that been forgotten about. Further, in advance of my stay I advised that we were travelling with a young toddler but for whatever reason the "kids package" showed up the morning we were checking out. A little too late. The food was meh. Overall it was meh.

It is a beautiful setting, but I would only return when the rates were reflective of the value. I would rather stay at the San Ysidro for what we paid.

Excellent Hotel with a great staff. Highly recommend staying at this superb location. The restaurant and lounge have both indoor and outdoor seating. Perfect for a cool night with drinks around the fire pit with friends or family.

The grounds are like a botanical garden, The staff is simply exceptional. You have to spring for a bungalow, they are the very best. Food is great, ambience is spectacular! My only critique is something they cannot control but wanted to mention, the beach has oil spots in it. So your feet are stained with the oil.Four Seasons gives you a special towelette to clean them off.

One of the prettiest, almost boutique hotel of any Four Seasons we've stayed. Beautiful gardens and rooms. Small balconies, but perfect for morning coffee for two. Wonderful Spanish/Moorish designed bar.

Wonderful staff....might be a training center as they were all young! Super friendly.

We spent the last day of a whirlwind california vacation at the Four Seasons and it really fit the bill. The buildings, from the 20s, evoke old california glamor (I thought of old movie stars in convertibles pulling up to the front). The grounds were immaculately kept and the pool and hot tub was serene, with excellent service. We walked on the beach and saw dolphins swimming, had a great al fresco dinner at the restaurant, and the next morning a delicious buffet breakfast in the same spot, warmed by the firepit. The bar was stylish too. It was not cheap but it was a really great one day splurge.

After traveling the globe for over 40 years the Four Season Biltmore Santa Barbra ranks in my top 3 along with the Ritz Carlton Montreal and the Georg V in Paris. The grounds of the property are incredible. The location next to the Pacific is serene and as beautiful as you will see anywhere. Have been to the Hotel 4 times and will return!

My husband and I have been visiting Santa Barbara for 40 years. Both he and our daughter went to colleges in SB. We also had realitives there for many years. For the past 30 years we have visited Butterfly beach and walked past the Biltmore saying some day we will stay there. So for my husbands 60th we did just that and were not disappointed. The staff was excellent. They even surprised him with a decadent birthday cake within 15 mins after our arrival. The room was large, breezy and very well equipped. You just can't find another property like the Biltmore, the grounds are as tranquil and beautiful as they come. Classic old California charm at it's best.

Is the lobby open air or enclosed?
Answer from Spanknyce

Huge high ceilings in the lobby. Glass doors open to huge deck facing ocean which was across a street if I remember correctly. Deck use for restaurant, bar, nice place to have drinks or dinner or brunch. Couldn’t be truly open air because SB is cold in winter.
