| Billys Best?
Fans of Dont Say No may not agree, but this is Billy Squier at his best. Like many great albums of the time, the songs at and near the beginning are more easily accessible, while the later songs take a bit more patience. But the patience pays off. Billy Squier never got great reviews. Whether he deserved them or not is debatable. He is not a lyrical genius, true, but he does have something to say. And he speaks clearly with his music. Emotions in Motion, with its heavy bass line, was a favorite of the urban kids I worked with in Berkeley, but I preferred the funk of One Good Woman. I still like Everybody Wants You, the albums only hit, and Listen To The Heartbeat is a great, subtle closer. Whether a new discovery or a rediscovery, this CD deserves a listen. Im so glad someone finally decided to put out the digital version.
