WOW! WOW! WOW!
About the book
This is my third book of Liane Moriarity & I wanted to read this way before the TV series aired but I was busy in some other stuff & could not read it. However, after some time the TV series came which got some good reviews as well as awards. I did not watched the trailer because I was determined that first, I will read the book & then only I’ll watch the TV series. Finally, last week I bought the book on my kindle & started reading.
Plot
The story revolves around three characters; Madeleine, Celeste & Jane. All three mothers, with their secrets & lies they have been living. Meet by destiny in school of their childrens & thus begun their journey of friendship, lies & betrayal in their day-to-day life.
Characters
I really liked the character & story of Celeste. Her character was strong and it is relatable to many other wives out there. Jane’s character and story was also good. Madeleine’s character was too loud but I like it that way because the other two characters were struggling with their past secrets & here we got the character that gave us few laughs.
The writing is impeccable & thoroughly profound & comprehensible. I like how Miss Moriarity penetrates inside the mind of the women & extract thoughts & dialogues that are true to itself. I did not find any chapter boring & I was hooked from start till the end & finished it within four days. Now, she is my favorite author in the chick lit & women. I will definitely read her other books & will recommend.
Now, I am off to watch the TV series. I hope it justifies the book.
I loved all her other books too, specially "What Alice Forgot" and "The Husband's Secret"
Liane Moriarty
Jane, a single mom, moves near the beach with Ziggy. She meets Madeline and Celeste on the first day of the kids’ orientation. Madeline has a say about everything and Celeste makes the world stop with her beauty. Both have an impressive social presence.
The orientation day witnesses all of them involved in a minor incident involving Jane’s son Ziggy. No one anticipates it but this shakes the whole town apart and leads to a murder.
Who was murdered? And why? What skeletons are hidden in everyone’s closets? Who is lying and who is not?
Intriguing? Oh well. I was sold after reading the premise on the back cover. Did it interest me? Hell Yeah!!!
I was literally stealing time to reach the last chapters to see who was murdered.. Such clever writing!! I was waiting after each chapter to read more. Such vivid characterisation and character build up.. this is really unputdownable…
Even the hbo series based on this is good!!!

viciante e prazerosa que até termina-la todos os meus momentos de lazer foram dedicados a ler.
