The original Quest Study Bible was conceived in 1989 when two publishing companies, Zondervan and Christianity Today International, worked together to develop a Bible that would answer the challenging questions that arose as people read Scripture. Focus groups around the United States evaluated the usefulness of potential study Bible features and helped select the features that would be included in this Bible. Then, more than 1,000 people received passages of Scripture and were asked, “What questions do you have about this portion of the Bible?” Their responses helped determine what kinds of questions the notes would answer, helping to create a resource that answers the questions that real people have asked about the Bible. Notes have been updated in subsequent releases to ensure that this Bible stays relevant and current to modern readers.

I own several Bibles - Joyce Meyers Amplified Bible, New King James Bible and a King James Bible...but my ultimate go to Bible is the NIV Quest Study Bible. This Bible is especially great for new believers or believers who are seeking to grow in their faith. I think the purpose of the Bible is literally said in its name, Quest, as anyone on a quest to understand and seek knowledge of God Word will do so with this Bible. In the Bible it poses everyday questions such as "why describe a dry lake in Canaan in such glowing terms?" It then tells you why and also will give you a reference scripture...and then throughout the bible it showcases these insight boxes as well addressing questions like "Why is there still injustice?", "What prevents God from hearing your prayers?", "Why does God test us?", etc... Each insight is explained in a thought provoking way with scripture references. I have grown the most in my spiritual walk with this Bible than with any other one. It is fun to read and it is fulfilling to actually understand fully what you are reading. I have bought many of these Quest Bibles as gifts to others and each and every person that has received one has spiritually grown by leaps and bounds.

This Bible is great for any age and the questions are spot on of what anybody would ask. This would be great used with bible study or by itself it is not kiddish and would otherwise peak interest in reading the bible. This bible is different in that it is a question and answer bible very different from the traditional.There r some bibles like this that have deep in depth study of da questions otherwise but to me this bible provides enough answerable material as to not bore the reader and would allow for one to continue. However if u want in depth and intensive study along with the questions I would read the sample of this bible first before purchasing. I love it and I use it all the time and it cuts out a lot of the time I use reading commentaries. If you r skeptical there is a hard copy at bookstore to. May God receive all the glory for this wonderful masterpiece .

This study Bible is so thorough. Here are a few features you'll find in this Bible: You'll find direct answers to specific questions about each book; who wrote it; why they wrote it; what you should look for as you read; you will also gain an understanding of some of the themes covered in each Bible book. You will also find: Time LInes, Maps, Side-Column Notes (in the margins you will find question-based notes that clarify the meaning of the Bible text, explanations of particular types of writing, other passages that cover the same or similar events or topics).

There is more information (Articles, Subject Index, Dictionary, Concordance, Indexes to Maps and Charts, Reading Plans and most importantly The Word of God). The Question and Answer Study Bible lives up to its word. It is a great investment "Spiritually speaking." It's about the size of a Bible (a little thicker) but it is not oversized or awkward.

I've always liked question and answer books; they make me think and typically send me on a path of discovery rather than just being satisfied with the given answer. This book doesn't disappoint at all in that regard. Lots of questions and “answers”, some of which are fact-based and some that are more speculative. That doesn’t detract from the book at all. However, there are a few things that I would advise being aware of before purchasing: 1) This book is based on the New International Version and although I have an NIV for general reading I always use a KJV bible and other tools like a Strong's concordance and/or Hebrew/Greek dictionary for actual research and study. That's just my preference. 2) Note that the Kindle book is formatted differently than portrayed in the “Look Inside” feature which is of the print book. It does have a functioning Table of Contents and navigation is relatively easy. However, you do have to toggle between the scriptures and the questions/answers. Not a biggie for me since, as I said, I don’t use it as a study bible. 3) The book has some pretty nice features and study helps including:
• Full Color Maps and Charts (a little small and sometimes segmented but still nice to have)
• Index of Questions
• Dictionary and Concordance
• Index of Subjects with Scripture References for the usual (Healing, Prayers, Prophecies) and unusual (Abuse, Adultery, Depression, Disabilities, Nonverbal Gestures)
• 3 Different choices of reading plans of varying timeframes
When it’s all said and done, for the price of $3.99 this is a nice addition to my library; especially when I’m just in the mood for a good thought-provoking read of God’s word as opposed to an in-depth study.

I'm fairly new to reading the bible as I have just begun looking into it and this bible is exactly what I needed! It is in an easy to understand translation as well as having explanations for the harder to grasp concepts in the margins. I also enjoyed the fact that it provides information at the beginning of the books to explain who wrote it and when.

The only qualms I have with this bible is the words of Jesus are not in red, this is not too big of a deal as it is quite easy to tell if he is speaking but sometimes it is very useful to have them in red.

The bible was very stiff when I got it, will take quite a while and a lot of love to soften the pages and allow easier reading.

Overall I am incredibly happy with my purchase and this is a very high quality bible that beginners and veterans of the bible will enjoy!
