edouardo v Well shot, well edited, but nothing too original. Main actress is mediocre. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Snooze fest. Really boring Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 05/30/22 Full Review Audience Member Often I find myself defending movies with terribly low ratings. Many a time I wonder why they scored so low when they're not so different from every other film out there. But this one, I have to agree. It's confused, incoherent… Kind of goofy. It's not the fault of the cast: the male principles are more than adequate, and Emily Ratajkowski is more than dishy. it's the action. If you can make it to the end it gets kind of fun but otherwise it's a mess. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Didn't Mind It. Had Reminisce Fingerprints Of Hitchcock Throughout It. Not A Masterstroke, But No Less A Solid Nod In The Direction Of Suspenseful Craziness. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member i'm not sure why everyone hates this movie, lol. it's no grand masterpiece, sure, but it's not a bad watch at all! the majority of the other ratings are too harsh IMO. that being said, i do agree that the leading lady was "meh" the entire time. although she plays a half-naked-woman-in-shock fairly well (i cackled at how she "cleaned up the blood"). but both men played their parts really well i thought. & sure, the story's somewhat predictable, but we've been making movies for 100 years & most films nowadays are either remakes or book adaptations - of course it's going to be predictable. humans aren't that original. i'd recommend it if it interests you. unless you want to travel to Italy, then maybe skip it. Matt Zoller Seitz RogerEbert.com Once the buzz from the ending fades, you may find yourself resenting Welcome Home for not figuring out that it could've been a classic until it was too late to be one. Rated: 2/4 Nov 20, 2018 Full Review Frank Scheck Hollywood Reporter Attempting to be a cautionary tale for the Airbnb era, the pic squanders its potential with ham-fisted execution. Nov 15, 2018 Full Review Noel Murray Los Angeles Times Strong lead performances by Aaron Paul and Emily Ratajkowski are squandered in "Welcome Home," a low-tension suspense picture with pretensions of saying something profound about broken relationships. Nov 14, 2018 Full Review Brian Costello Common Sense Media This is a thriller that starts off with some promise, but soon lapses into predictability. Rated: 2/5 Jun 10, 2021 Full Review Karl Delossantos Smash Cut Reviews Welcome Home benefits from having some star power in its lead roles, but its thin script, overzealous direction, and empty plot leave it as nothing more than a kitschy thriller that makes for a perfect popcorn-fueled late-night hate-watch.
