INTRODUCTION Set overlooking the award winning Danson Park, this beautiful Grade I listed Palladian villa was officially re-opened by HM Queen Elizabeth II in July 2005. Built by Sir John Boyd in 1766 for his second wife Catherine Chapone, Danson House was originally designed by architect Sir Robert Taylor (who was also the architect of the Bank of England). In the twentieth century the house fell into an almost ruinous state. In 1995 English Heritage identified the house as 'the most significant building at risk in London', signalling the start of a decade of restoration. In 2005 the restored interior opened to the public for the first time in thirty years. REGISTER OFFICE Bexley's Register Office at Danson House Danson House is now the official Register Office for the London Borough of Bexley. Run by Kent County Council on behalf of the London Borough of Bexley, the stunning Grade I Georgian Villa now offers ceremonies including Weddings, Citizenship, Renewal of vows and Welcoming, notice of marriage appointments, nationality checking services and the registration of births and deaths. The Register Office is open from 9am to 5pm Monday to Saturday and can be contacted on the stated number for appointments and enquiries, or via email that has been stated. For more information regarding the Danson House Register Office please visit A Kentish Ceremony. From Monday 18 July onwards death registrations will also take place on the first floor of the Central Library in Bexleyheath every Monday and Wednesday from 9.30am to 5.30pm. HERITAGE TOURS Public opening times Whilst operating as the Borough's Register Office Danson House is also open to the public as a heritage attraction every Sunday from 10am to 4pm. Visitors are able to view the grand rooms on the principal floor as well as the Victorian basement kitchen equipped with historic kitchen items. Tucked away from the far-beaten track in Bexleyheath. It can be quite a trip to get there without a car but is worth the journey. The beautiful gardens and the stunning house are the first sights you can see. Exploring the outside before entering the tour is go time for photos and finding hidden areas. Finding the well was a particular highlight. The tour staff are passionate and give an in-depth tour of the house that provides a fascinating history of William Morris. The tour lasts a good 40 minutes and tells William's story well. The tour costs a reasonable £11, but there are often free tickets available in the media for the National Trust. Once the tour ends you can continue to explore and visit the second-hand bookstore. Unfortunately, there are no refreshments available, so come prepared with drink and food. On a sunny day, it is a magical visit.

We met for a friend’s special b’day for Afternoon Tea (this friend had been before and recommended it)
The venue and ambience was nice, however the scones were somewhat disappointing as they were hard! We did point out to George, our waiter and they were replaced! It appears they were a bad batch and George advised they would be ‘binned’
Also dont think the choice of cakes were particularly enticing and again George offered us a different choice and gave us some carrot cake to take home to make up for the disappointing scones!
George was very obliging and friendly and polite and made our afternoon enjoyable!
    Gold star for George!

This is a reasonable place to do your shopping because of the large number of small Independant and also has the larger supermarket type shops with good parking facilities as well as a large undercover shopping area and a good bus service. I have been coming here for over 20 years and this is the first time I have thought of giving it a review. I don’t think in all that time I have ever been disappointed with a visit.

I found this park by accident really, it’s hidden just off the Broadway in Bexleyheath.

I entered the park from a cul de sac road called Spring Vale, the pathway was very muddy so make sure you have suitable footwear, you walk through a wooded area, and you pass the recreation area, the day I went they were doing major construction 🚧 work.

This park has no cafe, and toilet facilities.

So in summary, this park is a nice open space for dog walking or passing through to save you walking down Watling Street or as I did.

Magdalena was brilliant! I booked a day for myself and son, as my son is starting his own chocolate business and needed some help and guidance. Magdalena catered the course for what he needed and answered any questions he had.
I would definitely recommend, Magdalena was very informative, lovely and very welcoming! We both got a lot out of this course plus some very yummy chocolate!

It's so cheap at this cinema with every ticket £6.99 for this very comfortable cinema. So on a rainy Sunday, it was a perfect venue to watch the rather fab Oppenheimer. With a good range of snacks for this three hour film and the toilets being spotless, it was a good way to spend a Sunday afternoon!

Ever-changing selection of cask ales and keg beers, always with at least one Bexley Brewery offering, as befits being their taproom micropub. Lovely little beer garden for the warmer weather.

Great beer, great service, great company.

Have been visiting since the day they opened.
