Our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Dee R Hunter, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2012 at his home in St. George surrounded by his family.

Dee was born January 9, 1925, at home in humble surroundings in American Fork, Utah to George Walter and Martha Edna Phillips Hunter. He was the youngest of 5 children.

Dee was a member of the National Honor Society and graduated from American Fork High School and LDS Seminary. He married Lila Virginia Hansen. He joined the Navy in 1943 attending officer's training school at Kansas University and then transferred to Tulane in New Orleans graduating in 1947. He did graduate work at BYU in accounting. He owned a Certified Public Accounting firm in American Fork starting in 1950 and retiring in 1985. He worked in the JC's and Rotary Club, was president of the American Fork Business Development, president and founding member of Alpine Country Club, served on various CPA committees and was a lifetime member of the AICPA and UACPA.

Mom and Dad were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on November 4, 1984. Dad enjoyed his callings in the church. He and mom loved to travel in their motor home seeing much of the United States and western Canada.

Dee is survived by his wife, 2 sons; Steven Dee (Connie) and Lynn Mahlin (Diane), 13 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Dee was preceded in death by his parents and all his siblings; Muriel Little, Fern Runolfson, Von and Vell and his son, Dale Walter.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Orchard Hills Chapel Hillcrest 1st Ward, 949 North 540 West, American Fork. Friends may call Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North Am. Fork and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church prior to the services.
