Qatar Airways named world’s best airline for 2022

Seventh time national carrier has won Skytrax’s top gong

Qatar Airways has just been named the world’s best airline at the 2022 World Airline Awards, the seventh time it has been awarded Skytrax’s top gong.

The airline previously won the award in 2011, 2012, 2015, 2017, 2019, 2021 and now 2022.

Qatar’s national carrier was also named the world’s best business class airline and the best airline in the Middle East, and is home to the best business class airline lounge catering.

Singapore Airlines was named the second best airline in the world, while Emirates came in third place. More than 350 airlines were included in the survey.

Qatar Airways group chief executive His Excellency Akbar Al Baker said, “To be named as the World’s Best Airline was always a goal when Qatar Airways was created, but to win it for the seventh time and pick up three additional awards is a testament to all the hard work of our incredible employees.
