Chelsea supporters react as Aston Villa reportedly close in on Bertrand Traore
Aston Villa are reportedly closing in on a move to sign Lyon attacker Bertrand Traore who is lacking in game time at the French club – and Chelsea supporters have reacted on Twitter following the supposedly imminent move of their former star.
Traore, 25, has remained an unused substitute in Lyon’s first two Ligue 1 matches as manager Rudi Garcia continues to prefer the likes of Maxwel Cornet, Memphis Depay and Karl Toko Ekambi. He has entered the final two years of his contract.
Sky Sports claim Villa are set to complete a £17million move for the 52-time Burkina Faso international, with a medical expected in the next few days. He is another example of Villa splashing out in recent weeks.

The Midlands outfit spent the best part of £30million on Ollie Watkins to lure him to Villa Park while Matty Cash joined from Nottingham Forest. Arsenal goalkeeper Emi Martinez is also expected to join Villa for a sizeable figure.
Traore spent four years at Chelsea after joining as a youth player in 2013, and clocked up 16 senior appearances – scoring four goals – before joining Lyon in 2017. Now, he will be hoping to help Villa survive the Premier League drop.
Chelsea supporters responded on Twitter to the reported news that Villa could bring Traore back to the Premier League three years after leaving Stamford Bridge – and many reckon he would be a good signing for Dean Smith’s men.
Wow. Villa are doing bits. The EPL will be better than ever. No more 99-100 point champions.
