Sara Netanyahu Early life

Near Haifa in northern Israel, in the town of Kiryat Tiv’on, Sara was born. Shmuel Ben-Artzi, her father, was an Israeli Jewish educator, author, poet, and biblical scholar who was born in Poland and passed away in 2011 at the age of 96.

Chava, her mother, was a sixth-generation native of Jerusalem. Her three brothers, Matanya Ben-Artzi, a professor of mathematics, Hagai Ben-Artzi, a professor of Bible and Jewish thought, and Amatzia Ben-Artzi, an entrepreneur in technology, are all champions of the Israel Bible Contest.

She was an exceptional student at Greenberg High School in Kiryat Tiv’on.

She was a reporter for the weekly Israeli teen publication Maariv LaNoar. She worked as a psycho-technical assessor for the Military Intelligence Directorate’s Department of Behavioral Sciences in the Israel Defense Forces (“Aman”).

Sara Netanyahu controversy

In 2016, the police recommended charging her. On September 8, 2017, Avichai Mandelblit, Israel’s attorney general, declared that Netanyahu would be charged with improperly ordering meals at the state’s expense.

The pre-indictment hearing was held on January 17, 2018. Mandelblit met with Netanyahu’s attorneys, breaking with tradition by declining to attend.

The trial date was set for July 19 after attempts to reach a plea agreement failed. The meals were allegedly ordered by an assistant for visiting dignitaries, according to Netanyahu’s legal team.
