‘Boy Meets World’ Star Ben Savage Is Engaged — All the Details

Over the years, Boy Meets World and Girl Meets World alum Ben Savage has been notoriously private about his dating life.
Fans have long hoped and wished for Ben and his Boy Meets World and Girl Meets World co-star and love interest Topanga (Danielle Fishel) to develop a relationship offscreen. And while it appears that the pair did actually once go on a date, nothing came out of the encounter. (More on that later!)
That said, Ben's quiet nature with his private life has left fans hoping that a real-life romance with Danielle could still be in the cards. However, it appears that Ben has been off the market for quite some time.
So, is Ben Savage married? Here's everything you need to know about the actor's love life.
Ben Savage is engaged to longtime girlfriend Tessa Angermeier.
Love and marriage is in the air! Ben took to Instagram in January 2023 to share the news of his engagement to Tessa Angermeier.
"The best is yet to come," Ben captioned a photo of himself and Tessa all smiles while outdoors.
Fans and fellow stars immediately flocked to Ben's comments section to congratulate the couple on their engagement.
"Congrats," actress actress Rebecca Kraf wrote with red heart emojis.
"Congratulations, actress Danica McKellar (who starred alongside Ben's big brother Fred on The Wonder Years) also wrote with red heart face emojis.
Interestingly, many fans shared their congratulations and joked bout Ben's bride-to-be not being his former onscreen love Topanga.
Despite the jokes, both Ben and Tessa are said to be overjoyed with taking their relationship to the next level.
"They are both very grateful and enjoying this exciting time with their families and friends," Ben's rep told People.
Ben and Tessa first started dating in 2018, with Ben seemingly first sharing a picture of her to Instagram in August of that year.
Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel went on one date in the ‘90s.
In the 2013 interview with the Los Angeles Times, Danielle claimed responsibility for the dating rumor around her and Ben. “That rumor was entirely my fault because I once said… that Ben and I went on a date, and that turned into ‘Danielle and Ben dated,’” she said. “We went on one date, when I was about 15, and by the time the dinner was over, we realized mutually that we were more like family than lovers.”
(Ben later explained to The Hollywood Reporter’s “Off the Cuff” podcast that he blew the date because he didn’t realize it was a date.)
The two actors were also each other’s first kisses, thanks to a romantic Boy Meets World scene. “I looked over at Ben, and he had gone completely white,” Danielle recalled in a 2014 THR interview.
As for her actual love life, Danielle was married to craft beer salesman Tim Belusko from 2013 to 2016. She has been married to comedian Jensen Karp since 2018. She and Jensen welcomed their first child, a son named Adler Lawrence, in 2019.
Aside from Ben and Danielle's almost-romance, fans are excited for this new chapter in Ben's life. Everyone deserves to be loved and it's great to see Ben find his perfect match.
