Our next regular TFOOTD contra dance will be Sunday, May 26th at the Gulfport Casino. Beginner instructions start at 3:30pm, with experienced dancers encouraged to help during that brief introductory period. The dancing then continues until 7:00pm, with additional instructions given as needed for moves that may be less familiar to newer folks.
Talent for the dances in the second half of the year (July through December) are being scheduled now. They are still planned for the 2nd Saturdays of the month at the Polish American Society and the 4th Sundays at the Gulfport Casino and will be posted on the Events Calendar as soon as the talent is all booked.
2024 Election and Board of Directors
The TFOOTD annual elections for our new Board of Directors was held on May 11th during the regularly scheduled dance at the Polish American Society. We’re happy to announce (and congratulate) the new TFOOTD Board of Directors as follows:
President – Sarah Mitchell, Vice President – Lydia Molineaux, Secretary – Terry Maluk, and Treasurer – Mary McLead. Lydia and Terry are new to the Board (so a special welcome to them), while Sarah and Mary are continuing in their existing officer roles.
In addition we’re especially happy to announce that the TFOOTD Board of Directors is now supplemented with the addition of the following new Members-at-Large:
Kathy Aagaard, Dylan Conway, Wes Maluk, Josh Rumshlag, Christine Stallings, Katie Zanders, and Rob Zanders. Christine and Katie are continuing to serve on our Board as Members-at-Large, but welcome, to Kathy, Dylan, Wes, Josh and Rob for joining us as well now! We’re looking forward to all your help in making our dance community even better!
Credit Card Payments for TFOOTD Dances
During the 2024 Snow Ball registration process we debuted the option for PayPal or credit/debit cards as a means of paying for the dance weekend. Now for the 2nd Saturday of the month dances at the Polish American Society, we debuted at the April 13th dance that there as an option for payment at those as well. We previously only had Zelle as an electronic payment option at PAS in lieu of cash, so this now adds a second electronic option for anyone who prefers not to carry cash to the dances.
Please note that we do add a one dollar convenience fee in addition to the ten dollar admission, since this covers the payment processing fee that we incur for those. For multiple admissions (like a couple paying together), however, there is only a twenty cents fee for each additional dancer on that payment. Just as a reminder, dances at the Gulfport Casino are actually handled by the Casino staff, and they have their own system for accepting electronic payments.
