1 day trip from Beau Rivage ... is it worth it?

Hello ... I'm going to Beau Rivage in Aug on a 4 day junket and found we are so close to New Orleans. So my idea is to rent a car and do it... but nervous about where to park. How bad is traffic? Is there any MUST dos I can accomplish in a day trip? Would a Uber be a bet option? Any and all suggestions would be appreciated. I love NOLA and literally cant wait to get another taste. Even one as small as this one :)

If I were that close, I wouldn't be able to pass it up and would go in a heartbeat.

It looks like a 1.5 hr drive. If it were me, I'd leave early in the a.m., ditch the car as soon as you arrive, and explore the French Quarter. I don't know about traffic at rush hour going back, but I'd get in front of it, or wait until dark, and head back, depending on the day of the week.

Others will have parking suggestions, as there are plenty of options..

For responses on the Beau, maybe post to the Mississippi Forum, as well.

We did just the opposite on one trip to NO - took one day from NO and drove to spend a night at Beau Rivage. Beautiful hotel, our hotel room was one of the nicest we have ever stayed in....but I can't stand the smoking in the casino so one day/night was plenty for us. It was an easy drive. You could get on the road early in the morning, by 8 or so, and have the whole day in NO. One day is better than none!!

Absolutely, but go the scenic route. Take 90 along the coast to Bay St Louis, stop downtown for a coffee and see the rebuilt town,Katrina. Then 90 to NO. Park on Decatur at Jax Brewery so you start in the middle of everything.

Go to Nps Visitors Center, 400 block of Decatur, for 9:30 ranger talk to get oriented, public bathrooms.

I did the reverse route a few weeks ago. Took the scenic highway 90 route to get there. Spent 4 hrs or so showing friends around Biloxi and took I-10 West back which took 1hr and 20min. If you leave Biloxi too early in the morning you are going to run into heavy rush hour traffic heading into New Orleans.
