This is the best fresh seafood market on Southside RVA period! I've been going to Bay Seafood for over 15 years and they have never disappointed me. The store is extremely clean and they have the best variety of fresh seafood! I absolutely love and recommend them to anyone looking for exceptional service amazing seafood both fresh and cooked!!

Save your money and DON'T GO TO THIS SEAFOOD MARKET. They are a rip off. They KNOW that the crabs they sell are empty. They want you to spend the money knowing that only 1 or 2 may be edible. The owner is rude!! Take your money elsewhere and get quality seafood!!

Bought half bushel of live female blue crabs for Father's Day weekend and they were so fresh. We called the day before and asked if they had live crabs. We picked up the next day and they were heavy. Very fresh and meaty! They also gave us two things of their seasoning. We usually order it from a place an hour away when buying crabs but we will now order from here!

The crabs are delicious and the service is great! Friendly and great deals on blue crabs...love this place!!!

Visited for the first time, yesterday evening. Got a variety of snow crab legs, stone crabs and shrimp that they steamed for us as well as herring roe for a birthday dinner celebration. Service was polite, friendly and fast! I would highly recommend and will be back. Thanks

I visited because my cousin lives 30 min and drives all the way over there for fish. I don't frequent the fresh seafood market and I see why (they so high) but I was satisfied with the quality. I purchased my breading from there and I fried my fish in airfryer and it was awesome...I ordered the lake trout and flounder filet . I Willis recommend and visit again

We purchased a dozen live crabs today. After getting home we noticed 5 of them were missing one or both claws. You pay for them by the dozen, not by the pound. We called Bay Seafood to complain. They said sorry, sometimes they're missing claws. That's not the right answer. If they're missing claws you charge by the pound or pick them clean for meat. You don't sell them as whole crabs. We expected the staff to say "sorry, we'll check them better next time and throw in a few extra for you". He said "they come that way, sorry". We won't be going back. My husband and I have been eating blue crab our whole lives. We have never been given a pile of crabs with Hal Fb of them missing their claws. Terrible customer service.
