Bavaria Germanair

A short-lived airline, Bavaria Germanair was an airline that came into being following the merger of Bavaria Fluggesellschaft and Germanair on the 1st of January 1977. Before the company was named Germanair, they started as Südwestflug GmbH in 1964, a tour operator for housing and accomodations at various summer destinations such as the Canary Islands. Roughly, by 1969 the company purchased their first BAC-1-11 operated as Germanair, a charter airline flying to European holiday destinations ✈️

Germanair was the first German operator of the Airbus A300B4, the worlds first Airbus jet airliner. Germanair Airbus A300 first flew on May 23, 1975. Germanair ceased operations in 1979
