My 10 year old son really enjoyed climbing the ladders inside the ship, moving the guns, laying down in the cots, and seeing the toilets. Though the tour is self-guided, there is a well marked path and many informative signs to explain things. The information inside the building was interesting, esp the fact that it's not really related to Captain William Kidd, but they allowed many references to him on the ship.

This is a beautiful state capitol. Each step has the name of a state with the date it became a state. Hawaii & Alaska share a step as they didn't have enough steps for two more! Interesting information about Huey Long and his assassination at the capital, also a statue of him on grounds in front. We took the elevator up to the observation deck- spectacular view of the city!! I would recommend visiting here if you're in Baton Rouge.

My husband and I really had fun attending LSU’s Mens basketball games in February and March! We were there when the fans stormed the court after the last minute win over Kentucky on February 21st! Our grandson plays on the team!

It truly is a beautiful building that has stunning curved staircase with a stained glass dome topping it off!
There is so much history here and the unusual architecture that resembles a castle makes it especially inviting! The location facing the Mississippi River is perfect too.
I can just imagine the wonderful events that are held here especially in the beautiful ballroom!
There is a LOT of history here to absorb!

This museum is a complex of 32 buildings. The main building (barn) is a huge collection of artifacts. The other buildings include blacksmith shop, post office, overseer's house, slave cabins, smoke house, sugar house, etc. All very interesting and informative. This is self guided.

My husband & I visited this museum after going to the state capital (within walking distance). It was so educational and interesting. There are 17 different galleries, to name a few: Louisiana giants included Louis Armstrong & Huey Long; Mississippi River which included steamboat information: Slavery & civil rights: Dancehall & music. We ran out of time but could've spent longer here. Definitely recommend.

Mike, the LSU mascot, has a multimillion dollar habitat. When we were there, he walked along in front of the glass viewing windows, waded though his pool by the glass windows, and then laid down right in front of us. He is a large, impressive cat.

Took my grandchildren for their birthday this past weekend. This was our first visit and we loved it. While a large portion is being renovated the kids still had a wonderful time. We appreciated the passes to return in the futurem and look forward to the new exhibits. The tiger exhibit was beautiful and the kids enjoyed the playground and petting zoo.

Definitely go through with the tour guide. She had a lot of info about the Louisiana area, the plantation and so much more. There were only 2 of us that went through with the guide so we were able to ask questions and see everything we wanted. Lots of interesting facts about how the plantation was run and how people lived at that time in history.

We enjoyed the walk around the trails and the nature center with lots of snakes. We saw rabbit, lizard, and squirrels. Although hot it was nice in the shade and bugs were not bad!

Louisiana Science and Art Museum was an amazing place! They feature many exhibits, including a display of different planets that allow you to see your weight on each planet, a display of lasers and how they can affect you, a display of the ancient Egyptians and the different aspects of their culture, etc. My personal favorites are the mummy exhibit and exhibit on dinosaurs and their different discovered fossils. Overall, I enjoyed my experience. The workers are very friendly and admission into the museum was quick and easy. Overall, it was great!
