You can see how these accounts compare to the rest of the market by checking out WalletHub’s latest Banking Landscape Report. And if you’re not sure a business bank account is for you, you may want to consider getting one of 2024’s best checking or savings accounts for consumers.
Methodology
To identify the best bonus bank accounts, WalletHub’s editorial team regularly compares over 250 offers based on APY, minimum opening deposit requirements, and a number of other features. The products listed in our Best Bank Account Bonuses page were chosen for their ability to provide competitive APYs, the institution’s size (as indicated by deposit amounts or assets), and their frequent appearance in online searches or other potential considerations. Below, you can read more about how each category winner was decided:
- Best Overall Checking – The most important factors were interest rate, monthly maintenance fees and signup bonuses. We also wanted an account that would have a good ACH transfer limit.
- Best Overall Savings - For this category, we primarily looked at APY, monthly fees and the minimum deposit requirement.
- Rewards Checking – This category focused on rewarding frequent usage, as opposed to the initial signup bonus.
- Checking/Savings Combo – We wanted this category to show accounts that would feature both savings and checking accounts. To that end, we weighed both the signup bonuses as well as the savings account APY and deposit requirements.
- Student Checking – Here, we wanted the best student checking accounts, with low or no fees. The lack of monthly fees was the most important, but also overdraft and ATM fees were taken into consideration.
- Business Checking – For this category, we looked for checking accounts specifically aimed at small businesses. We took into account APY, decent monthly fees and an appropriate signup bonus.
