      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

With murky cinematography, a meandering pace, a dull storyline, and rather wooden performances, The Pang Brothers' Hollywood remake of Bangkok Dangerous is unsuccessful.

Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 08/12/23 Full Review Jack O Another Nicolas Cage film which I don't like and that is Bangkok Dangerous. Like I said to Snake Eyes that this film is boring. I mean it's not bad it's just that it's not good a good film but this one, this one is beyond boring. I watched this about once on YouTube and the part where it's bright red I just started rubbing my eyes cause it's flashing so bright and the part where Nicolas says 'Again'. The storyline is so dull, the cinematography is murky, it's a failure at the box office and there's nothing more I can about it, I just don't remember it all. FXXK! Rated 1 out of 5 stars 06/19/23 Full Review Georgan G Nothing special about this hit man, other than how he chooses to end the film. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 05/29/23 Full Review steve d Fine action flick with no new ideas. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member It should be named Diary of the lonely ghost assassin, as the plot & actions while getting some Pad Thai, Pad Kra Pao & Som Tam Poo Pla Ra. Joshua Katzman Chicago Reader While the film includes several exciting, creatively shot action scenes, the drama is otherwise so shopworn that the violent climax is a relief. Dec 8, 2008 Full Review Christy Lemire Seattle Post-Intelligencer Tediously monotonous. Oct 18, 2008 Full Review Marc Savlov Austin Chronicle [Cage is] funless, scowly, grim, and steroidally impervious to the fleshy and salacious good cheer that surrounds him. Rated: 1.5/5 Oct 18, 2008 Full Review Micheal Compton Bowling Green Daily News This lifeless remake of a 1999 film by the Pang brothers is a predictable and rather down-beat film that brings out the worst in the action genre. Rated: D+ Oct 16, 2019 Full Review Jeffrey Lyles Lyles' Movie Files A promising film about a hit man that ultimately gets wacked because its star isn't suited for the role at all. Rated: 3/10 Oct 15, 2012 Full Review Ali Gray TheShiznit.co.uk At six foot plus, with his hair-plug mullet and his ice-white teeth, Cage sticks out like a sore thumb among the tiny Thai citizens, making for the most conspicuous hitman since Agent 47 rocked the bald head 'n' barcode combination.
