Timeline: West Baltimore mass shooting leaves one dead and four injured

Police investigating shooting in West Baltimore 00:23

BALTIMORE — A shooting in West Baltimore left a man dead, and four victims injured, according to police. 

Officers responded to the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and Laurens Street, after reports of multiple gunshots. 

Officers arrived to find several victims suffering from injuries.  

One man was shot in the arm was taken to a hospital where he is said to be in stable condition.  Another man suffered a serious gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at a local hospital. 

Police also said a woman driving down the street with two children in the car was shot before crashing her vehicle into a pole.  She was taken to an area hospital, where she remains in critical condition. 

Police said the six-year-old who was in the vehicle is injured, likely from the crash, and the two-year-old is in critical condition, after suffering a gunshot wound.

Mayor Scott speaks after Baltimore Police confirm shooting details

Mayor Scott spoke following updates from the Baltimore Police Department.

"First and foremost, as the commission that said, thoughts and prayers go out to those families to those victims. But more than anything, it should be anger for all of us.," Scott said.  "We're talking about someone did a woman shot a child shot another child injured another person's shot over what?"

Mayor Scott also commented on the culture of violence in Baltimore.  

"To black men in Baltimore. I see a lot of folks trying to be acting like they tough. Were they really weak because Only weak people shoot somebody when you know children are right there.", the mayor said.  "And if you're harboring that person, and that's your homeboy, that's your that's your man and that's your cousin. I don't care who it is, then you're weak too."

Baltimore Police confirm one dead, four injured

The Baltimore Police Department has announced more details in the shooting that occurred this evening.

They said that around 6:39 p.m. they responded to the scene after reports that multiple gunshots were fired.

One man was shot in the arm and is said to be in stable condition.  

Another man suffered a serious gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at a local hospital. 

They also said a woman, who was driving down the street with two children in the car, is in critical condition and suffering from a gunshot wound.  

Police said a six-year-old who was in the vehicle is injured, likely from the Crash, and a two-year-old is in critical, but stable condition.
