Balliol students take centre stage in Oxford Playhouse production of The Two Gentlemen of Verona

Tuesday 07 May 2024

Three Balliol students will star in an upcoming production of The Two Gentlemen of Verona at the Oxford Playhouse. Directed by Gregory Doran, the current Cameron Mackintosh Visiting Professor of Contemporary Theatre at the University of Oxford, the play will run 1518 May 2024.

Leading the show is Rob Wolfreys (2023, English Language and Literature), a first-year undergraduate student who has landed the lead role of Proteus. Joining him are Rosie Mahendra (2022, PPE) and Lilia Kanu (2021, History and English), who bring exceptional talent to the roles of Silvia and Julia, respectively.

Director Gregory Doran praised the performances of these three students, remarking that the ‘Balliol trio shine rather brightly, doing the College proud.’

Everyone is warmly invited to support the production and see Balliol’s students in action. Further information, including about bookings, can be found on the Oxford Playhouse website.
