Something called the FUN Zone, seemed like a good place to visit. Not sure if it was because it was raining, but this place was a bust. Nothing was going on. We spotted a typical arcade, visited a gift shop and coffee shop. And... that was it! We paid for two hours of parking and I think we struggled to kill 30 minutes.

My 9 year old had fun blowing through the usual 20 bucks at the arcade to win tickets to "win" a prize....but after that 20 minutes she was bored of the area. There just isnt that much to do other than rent water crafts. The area seems to be a sad reminder of the days when arcades and amusement parks were popular. No more. This is a place to walk through on your way to somewhere else now.

I love this iconic attraction on the Balboa Fun Zone. Ride it at night and look at all the lights or in the day and take in the scenery. So very happy they haven't ruined the Balboa Fun Zone by getting rid of it. I miss the carousel and bumper cars that were fun for all ages. Should have kept those and gotten rid of one of the arcades instead. It's still nice to go down, but not as much of an attraction as it once we for young and old after removing those two attractions. Hopefully, someone makes the ferris wheel a historic destination so they can't get rid of it too.

We had a great evening at the Fun Zone with our boys. Great views, rides, and treats. Not cheap, but we didn't expect it to be.

It was quick and easy to get on the ride. The teens loved it, was a longer ride than we expected. Beautiful day to see the water.

Old time beach boardwalk entertainment -- fun food, lots of restaurant options, rides, attractions, walking distance to the beach and Balboa Island Ferry -- and free people watching!

Junk shops, a few rides, lots of over-priced restaurants, no parking. For the barely pubescent set, it's a place; for us, a horror.

We walked through the "Fun Zone" over Labor Day Weekend. It consisted of carnival type attractions. I thought it was very expensive ( $5-$10) per attraction. It is possible to get an unlimited day pass for $30. Lots of kids and families. Bars were full, people seemed to be enjoying themselves. It's just not my thing.

If you are in the area this is one stop that is worth it. You have a couple of options to choose from... renting a boat, stand up paddle boating in the harbor, or just walk up the harbor for little shops or other fun activities. Also it is nice once you are parked there you can go right to the ocean and walk around or rent a bike. Hungry it has the too Pizza, burgers, Mexican or Italian is all right there.

Thank you Enjoy your day at the beach..

I went on a business trip with my husband and had a lot of time on my own. I had never been in the Newport Beach area and decided to go to Balboa Island and look around, since our hotel offered shuttle service to the area. While walking along the bay I saw a sign that advertised ferry service to Balboa Fun Zone, so I decided to give it a try. It cost me $1 for a short trip across the bay. The Fun Zone is a tourist area with shops, a ferris wheel and places to eat. I decided to explore and walked several blocks to see the pier and also walked on the beach. The area was a pleasant surprise, I had a lot of fun at the Balboa Fun Zone!
