If you like science fiction classics, Star Trek, the regular sci-fi tropes and comedy, look no further, this film is an absolute blast. While being primarily a comedy with scenes that still makes me burst in laughter even after several rewatch, this movie also honors the community of sci-fi fans, geeks and all that made tv series like Star Trek a staple of the genre.

The ending keeps open the possibility of a sequel alive but, with the death of Rickman, all speculation of any desired sequel ceased. Allen was open to another installment and showed a great deal of class by stating it would never happen without Rickman.
