She usually makes a glamorous turn at many a red carpet event.

But Amy Adams proved she can nail off-duty chic just as well as she stepped out in a chic ensemble while running errands in Beverly Hills, California on Thursday.

The actress, 44, put on a cheerful display as she strolled down the street in a smart black shirt, which she tucked into a pair of blue skinny jeans.

The star teamed her stylish look with a pair of black ankle boots, black cat-eye sunglasses and a large red handbag. 

The Man of Steel star swept her auburn tresses into a low ponytail and showcased her natural beauty by going make-up free for her outing.

Amy appeared in a cheerful mood an she smiled and waved for the camera during her day out. 

The six time Academy Award winner is set to have her days filled as she just signed on to star for Ron Howard in the movie adaptation of the bestseller Hillbilly Elegy.

Hillbilly Elegy tells the story of three generations of a family in Appalachia.

The screenplay is being written by Vanessa Taylor who was nominated for an Oscar for her screenplay for 2017's The Shape Of Water, which won four Academy Awards in 2018 including Best Picture.

Adams was nominated for her another Oscar this past awards season for her role as Lynne Cheney in the film Vice.

However, she lost out to If Beale Street Could Talk's Regina King in the best supporting actress category.

Her previous Academy Award nominations have been for 2005's Junebug, 2008's Doubt, 2010's The Fighter, 2012's The Master and 2014's American Hustle.

Meanwhile, she's already wrapped production on a new movie slated for an October release.

She stars with Julianne Moore, Gary Oldman, Wyatt Russell and Anthony Mackie in the thriller The Woman In The Window directed by Darkest Hour and Atonement helmer Joe Wright.

The couple share eight-year-old daughter Aviana Olea Le Gallo.
