The area
Neighborhood: Champs-Élysées
This area is characterized by its namesake avenue which extends northwest from the Louvre to the modern business district, punctuated by the iconic Arc de Triomphe. Grand embassies stand among impressive offices and presidential palaces; architecture from 19th century Universal Exhibitions, homes, art galleries, and 19th century streets designed by Baron Haussmann flank haute-couture boutiques. This neighborhood never rests, buzzing with visitors from around the world at all times of day and night, all within a stone's throw of the Seine.

Set between the Champs Elysees and river Seine this is a high end shopping street with world's top brands. Like you might suppose shop windows are perfectly arranged and the prices skyrocking.
We just walked it, seeing many, mostly Asians shopping inside.

This was once the seat of the high fashion houses, where women would go to view live models showing the latest and be fitted for their own gowns. While there is still some high end shopping here, much of that has moved on and been replaced by offices. There are a couple of grand hotels and the lovely Champs Elysee Theater. A very upper class part of town.

We were six adults and 2 children of 12 and 9. The place is obviously a trendy joint where pretty girls pretend to wait on you when they are just models with a fake smile, who don’t know what they are doing. Food is nothing special and it’s overpriced to put it mildly. I ate an omelette which was huge and not especially tasty and tried a snail which was ok. We had no wine and no desert and payed 435 euros. Forgot to tell you that there was a constant music playing which got to my nerves. There are plenty of other places to go in Paris and eat real food in a nice environment. Don’t waste your evening.

This is a very long street with all of the high end shops. It was neat to see but I felt very underdressed and unworthy. I got a lot of snooty stares too. I was looking to purchase a purse and didn't even get helped when I went in to the stores. Needless to say, they didn't get my business!

The area bounded roughly by Avenue Montaigne, Avenue Marceau, the Seine, and the Champs Elysee contains many of the highest end shops, restaurants, hotels and boutiques and chic bars in Paris. Do not limit yourself to only Avenue Montaigne. Very interesting to stroll through and absorb some of the atmosphere. Shopping Is generally oriented towards high fashion and also probably more oriented towards women than men. If you have ever seen the movie "Avenue Montaigne" (highly recommended) you will recognize many sites in the neighborhood from the movie. Classic high end Paris.

This is a chic place in an even more chic part of town. Nice service, interesting menu. Probably the best 6 snails I’ve ever had. Our friends had huge veal stakes, I had spicy sea bass. All excellent. Good wines. Not cheap but worth it.

The original Maison Dior in Paris is worth a visit. Everyone is welcome and make you feel like home. I had presumptions what they would think about me as I am not rich but greeted me with smile on their faces and happy to help. I just purchased a small make up item but they made it extra special with limited box and bag and cute star charm as Gesture of Goodwill for the patience. Note; this store is busy during festive period.

If you’re not in Paris for long or not a fan of shopping, skip it. It’s a very pretty street but all the stores are worldwide chains. Sure you want to say you went to Louis Vuitton or Fendi in Paris, but this isn’t really a have to visit site. If you go during the dinner rush you can see lots of luxury cars at the restaurants.
