AT&T FAQ's

AT&T offers three types of internet options—DSL, fiber and mobile internet. The DSL plans are the most common and most available. If you're looking for the fastest speeds, check if AT&T's fiber network is available in your area.
AT&T offers home internet services to 48 states in the U.S. The internet plans available to you will differ depending on your location. AT&T's fiber internet plans are not as widely available (yet) as their DSL internet plans, but the provider has committed to making fiber available to 12.5 million households in 2019.
AT&T offers different internet plans for all speed requirements. DSL internet speeds range from 5Mbps to 100Mbps, while their fiber plans offer speeds from 300Mbps to 1Gbps. If you prefer a mobile internet (fixed wireless) plan, then your speeds will be up to 12Mbps.
If you use more than your allowed data for the month, AT&T will charge you $10 for every additional 50GB of data you use within that same billing cycle (up to $100/month). If your data allowance isn't enough, you can buy unlimited internet data for an additional monthly fee, or you can receive unlimited data on your account by bundling TV service with your internet plan.
AT&T's fiber and DSL internet plans require a 12-month contract. The internet provider's mobile internet options do not require a contract. If you cancel your internet plan before the end of your contract, you'll be charge an early termination fee.
You have the option to use your own modem with an AT&T internet plan or rent one for a small monthly fee directly from AT&T. If you do choose to buy your own modem/router, make sure it's compatible with AT&T's internet services first.
AT&T charges an installation fee of $99 for both its DSL and fiber internet options. Mobile internet or fixed wireless plans do not require professional installation so you won't be charged a fee.
There are several reasons why your internet may not be running as fast as your plan allows. Things like multiple people using your connection, network congestion, and poor WiFi connection can all affect how fast your download and upload speeds are. If you think your internet is running slowly, you can run a speed test from your computer to check exactly what your speeds are.
Absolutely. AT&T have a number of bundling options for your internet and/or TV and home phone. Benefits of bundling your services include discounted pricing and unlimited data.

AT&T Internet Customer Service & Reputation

Unfortunately AT&T doesn't get a ton of positive reviews from internet subscribers when it comes to customer service and satisfaction.

Most complaints are related to speed issues, with many customers claiming their internet speeds never reach the maximum promised by their chosen plans.

There are some positive reviews about AT&T's customer service team, however. Some have raved about customer support finding them a great deal.

Why Choose AT&T Internet?

If you live in the South or California, then AT&T offers great coverage and will likely be a top contender when it comes to picking an internet provider.

If you're lucky enough to be in AT&T's fiber internet coverage areas, you'll be enjoying super fast and reliable internet speeds.

TV service is another great reason to choose AT&T as an internet and TV provider, with great bundling options to choose from.

If you want the fastest speeds, then AT&T fiber internet plans should be on the top of your list. If fiber internet isn't available to you, however, AT&T's DSL internet plans can get up to 100Mbps, which is still pretty fast.

Generally, you'll get better value out of AT&T's DSL or fiber internet plans, compared to their mobile internet plans. Mobile internet plans are great for those who don't need the fastest speeds or need the most data and don't plan on living in the same place for long.
