Ashley Jacobs is pregnant with her first child — and married!
Years after walking away from her role on Southern Charm in lieu of a new life in her hometown, Santa Barbara, California, Ashley, 36, took to her Instagram page with a surprising announcement from her and her new husband, Mike Appel, 40.
“We’ve been keeping the biggest little secret and we are absolutely over the moon to share our news!” Ashley wrote in the caption of a series of photos of her and Mike.
“Huge thank you to the [Ko’a Kea Hotel and Resort] for making our honeymoon/babymoon a dream come true! The Ko’a Kea will always be where we come back to celebrate,” she continued.
In one of Ashley’s photos, the former girlfriend of controversial ex-politician and ex-reality star Thomas Ravenel, 58, was seen cradling her baby bump.
In an accompanying interview with PEOPLE, Ashley confirmed she and Mike, who proposed in March, are expecting a baby boy this August.
She also confirmed that she and Mike recently tied the knot in an intimate wedding ceremony.
“We’re having a baby!” the couple exclaimed to the magazine. “It’s wild how the universe works – our first child together is due the same day we met, two years ago!”
According to Ashley, she and Mike, owner of Related Garments clothing apparel and creative agency Nnovate, planned to enjoy a babymoon in Hawaii but after getting married in their surprise ceremony, they decided to turn the trip into a joint babymoon/honeymoon.
“We are over the moon to be on this adventure together, as newlyweds,” she said.
Ashley and Mike met in 2019 at a party in Santa Barbara, California, and made their relationship Instagram official months later.
Following Mike’s proposal last month in Park City, Utah, Ashley told PEOPLE their adventure was “just getting started.”
“We’re a great team, and we can’t wait for what’s ahead! Buckle up!” she added.
