Ashley Jensen 'devastated' after husband Terence Beesley's sudden death

Actress Ashley Jensen says she has been left "devastated" after the sudden death of her husband.

Actor and writer Terence Beesley, 60, is understood to have been found unconscious at their family home in the village of Camerton, Somerset.

Paramedics were called to the house, but Mr Beesley was pronounced dead a short time later.

The cause of his death is not yet known, with an inquest to take place next year.

A representative for Jensen, 48, who is currently starring in BBC drama Love, Lies and Records, said: "Ashley is devastated and respectfully asks for privacy for her, her young child and the family at this extremely sad and difficult time."

The couple had been married for 10 years, and have an eight-year-old son, Francis.

Jensen, who found fame in the Ricky Gervais comedy Extras, met Beesley in 1999 while both were working on a stage production of Shakespeare's King Lear.

The pair relocated to the US after Jensen successfully auditioned for a role in ABC comedy Ugly Betty while on a California road trip with her husband.

They then married in Big Sur in 2007, with their dog Barney as ring-bearer.

The couple moved back to the UK, settling in Bath, following the birth of their son.

Beesley, who was born in London to Irish parents, had TV acting credits including EastEnders, Casualty and Midsomer Murders.

Most recently he played Buxton in ITV's Victoria and General Benningsen in BBC One's War & Peace, and appeared in the feature film London Has Fallen, all in 2016.

He died at the end of November, his representative said.
