Nestled along the picturesque coastline of Santa Barbara lies the tranquil haven of Arroyo Burro Beach Park.
The park boasts a pristine stretch of sandy beach, perfect for leisurely strolls or soaking up the California sun.
One of the highlights of this park is undoubtedly its natural beauty. Wildlife enthusiasts will be delighted by the diverse array of bird species that call this area home, from elegant herons to playful seagulls.
For those craving a bit of adventure, the park also good for excellent surfing conditions, both novice and experienced surfers alike.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 8651133695Mar 17, 20241 check-in
Found this spot randomly as we were in Santa Barbara. I wanted to relax and take in the views. parking is a bit crazy as it's all one way. Decent amount of parking here though. There's a restaurant here as well. Only one with amazing views.
It's also a dog beach. They had a leashed and non leash section. Like I said, super rocky there so be careful. It was very beautiful though.
Lots of people with tamed dogs. People picked up after themselves. Low tides and was very clean.
The restrooms were a bit dirty, but had soap and working air dryers.
Hidden gem. Gorgeous viewsHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Clyde V.Irvine, CA9048258Feb 4, 2024
Captured a view of Arroyo Burro Estuary at the Arroyo Burro County Beach Park (AKA Hendry's Beach) while walking along Cliff Drive.
Visited during the summer (August).
Grassy area with picnic tables. BBQ grills. Restrooms w/outdoor showers. Lifeguards on duty during the summer season.
Dog-friendly beach. 2-mile off-leash area. Self-service pet washing station ($10, Credit cards only).
Open 7 days/wk: Ocean-front restaurant and snack barHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 16, 2024
Another wonderful friendly dog spot! Dogs had a great time, lots of driftwood to throw, and beautiful views- the pictures say it all! Really nice tidepools, rock formations, and stones along the beach...left side is off leash and right side is leashed!

A friend of mine rented a house up the hill and turned us onto this dog beach. For some reason, LA has a dearth of dog beaches and this beach has a lot of space for the dog side.
While it's always busy because there's so much space it never seems crowded, I've even managed to get parking in the lot during the busy weekend periods.
My dog loves to roughhouse and while I usually worry about other owners and their dogs no one's every really minded.
On top of that, there's a dog wash station right on the grounds so you can clean your dog up before heading back if you choose.
Definitely a solid place to go to if your dog loves the ocean.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jun 25, 2023
The beach is pretty rocky lately as I believe there has been erosion overtime. We typically have been able to find parking in their free lot easily. There are public restrooms, a restaurant, a greenspace, and love that it's so dog friendly!
Our dogs love exploring and walking offleash along the narrow beach coastline.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Sep 5, 2022
This is our favorite beach to come to since it's always packed with dog friends for our little frenchie, Mumu. It is difficult to find parking here since there are only two lots, no street parking around and a great restaurant right on the beach that brings many to this beach.
The waves here are not big which makes it easy to swim around, though there are some rocky areas to look out for. It can be a little seaweedy, but once you get out past the waves it perfectly clear.
The stretch of beach is long and makes for a pleasant walk. The left side of the beach is for off-leash dogs and the right side for the cold hearted. Just kidding! The right side is for people who don't want to deal with dogs running around. Can you tell which side we always go to ;)
There's a great dog washing station here near the further parking lot and a great boarded path with palm trees that leads from the beach to the lot.
There's no shell or pebble hunting here unfortunately, but you'll enjoy your time regardless :)
Definitely check out this beach, also know as Hendry's beach, but don't steal my parking spot! ;)Helpful 3Thanks 1Love this 4Oh no 0 - Lisa L.Newport Beach, CA31134340Aug 20, 2023
One of the best dog beaches. My dog loves it here and she can romp with others or just dig in the sand. There is tar on this beach so check paws, feet and shoes for it. Parking (which is free) can be tough on weekends, but just drive around until someone leaves. The dog side of the beach is to the left and there's signs directing you. We always see dolphins frolicking in early am or afternoon, too. Pure fun.

Love this dog beach! On leash or off leash areas. Beautiful weather. Come enjoy a day at the beach with your four legged friends.
